  1. Yeah, but you're completely disregarding injuries unrelated to "durability". Never mind strains or fatigue, what happens if he gets Beltre-d like Ellsbury did? Or if he's covering first and someone shatters his ankle or something? If you get to win the bet just because he doesn't make the inning limit, regardless of his ERA, it's only fair that I should win the bet if he does make the inning limit, regardless of his ERA.
  2. Oh, in that case, no thanks. I'm not sure why you expected me to accept a bet in which you get the "or" and I have to take the "and", but that's not going to happen.
  3. Okay, so 3.99 and under. And if he pitches under 150IP, you win, so that means if he exceeds 150IP, no matter what the ERA, I win, right?
  4. Okay. 4 or under, I win, over 150IP, I win. Right?
  5. Tough loss, but an encouraging first start from Porcello.
  6. Sure, a sig bet sounds fine. ERA under four, I choose yours, over 4, you choose mine. 150IP minimum, if he ends up under that due to injury, ineffectiveness, or trade, the bet is off for both of us.
  7. I believe it, but baseball occasionally goes in unpredictable directions, and 100 dollars can mean the difference between me eating meals for two weeks or eating plain Ramen.
  8. I wish that losing 100 bucks could be something that "wouldn't hurt" me, but that's about 25% of a weeks pay for me (more, lately, considering how slow we have been). I will bet you a dollar.
  9. Exactly. His first movie, Happy Gilmore, was a decent comedy, and he has made nothing but unwatchable garbage since then, coasting on the success of one film. A lot like M. Night Shaymalan, actually.
  10. I'm all for ripping on inaccuracies, plotholes, or ridiculousness in movies (ask me about The Fugitive sometime), but there is a time and a place for it, and that time or place is either at home or during conversations with friends or at work, not while the movie is playing in a theater full of people who paid through the nose to watch the damn thing. As an aside, the only movie I ever walked out of in the theaters was That's My Boy. I don't like Adam Sandler movies, but I went because we went as a group from work. I lasted about twenty minutes before I walked across the street to Wendy's and read a book while waiting for everyone else.
  11. Let me guess, you're the guy who loudly points out the historical inaccuracies at the movie theater.
  12. Hey, I told you before, I don't know anything about those incidents, that polonium poisoning was a complete accident.
  13. I think when the time comes, we'll put it to a vote.
  14. Pal doesn't have the ability to ban you and every one of your descendants for the next hundred generations from this site. NO GAMETHREADS KIDDO. This is a friendly suggestion from your benevolent despot. I will rescind this at any point after the All-Star break at which the Red Sox are twenty or more games over .500. At that point you won't be able to harm the natural progression of things.
  15. If you create a single Red Sox gamethread this season, I am going to have you drawn and quartered by four Clydesdales and then I'm going to ban the pieces.
  16. Looks like mvp mojo is off to a strong start. Keep it going tomorrow.
  17. Yeah, it's an administrator thing, only YZ can do it. Same with passwords and usergroups, and custom user titles. The only account info I can change is signatures and avatars.
  18. Hanley Ramirez is pretty cool.
  19. You just know Pedroia is in the dugout now giving Papi so much s***.
  20. There are some that would be tough to beat. The last two World Series teams come to mind. Remember how far ahead of everyone the Sox were in so many offensive categories in 2013.
  21. Well, it may only be one game, but it is certainly an encouraging start to the season. Especially from Dustin Ortiz.
  22. And as a small bonus for me, the Rockies are beating the piss out of Milwaukee.
  23. For the first and probably only time, Mookie Betts and Dustin Pedroia both have more home runs than David Ortiz.
  24. Anything Pedroia can do, he can do Bettser.
