  1. Of course they don't troll at SOSH. Apparently, they're too busy creating accounts to troll here, instead.
  2. Is it pronounced "Hewk", though? Or is it "Howk"?
  3. Which wouldn't be wordplay at all.
  4. I could change it to my SOSH username... It will be interesting to watch Youk as a Yankee this season, though. It seems more difficult for me than it was with Damon. I started actually caring about baseball in 2002, so I only watched Damon for 4 seasons. I watched Youk for 6 full seasons and parts of three more. It's the first time in my short tenure as a Sox fan that I've had to see a longtime favorite play for the Yanks. All the rest of the players who have gone over have either been minor guys or guys I never liked anyways. Mientkiewicz, Bellhorn, et cetera.
  5. What the hell am I supposed to do about this username now?
  6. I guess I really am the heart and sole of Talksox.
  7. I'm not sure I'm back for good. This was more of a "hit and pun", if you will. The second post after I return being you acting like a douchebag has me leaning towards not starting again though, if that helps.
  8. Something isn't right here. This move smells fishy. I don't want to be crabby about this, but as others have pointed out, Carp is no Mike Trout, or even Tim Salmon. I'd be prepared to caviar eyes if this guy ever gets to the plate in a ML game for the Sox this season. I'm not sure I see the porpoise of an acquisition such as this. Mark my words, this will turn out to be a whale of a mistake that will just garner the FO more anemones in the long run.
  9. two whloe pages and noone missess me...how disapointing : just dropping int to say hi eveyone...so hi everyone!!!!! bye
  10. I think I speak for all of the Sox fans on this site when I say "God damn motherf***ing f***ing goddamn stupid f***ing Yankees"
  11. Go everyone who isn't the Yankees or Cardinals or Tigers or Giants! Seriously though. The Yankees, Giants, and Cardinals have all won recently, and I don't like the Tigers. On the other hand, the Orioles, Reds, and As haven't won in a while, and the Nationals have never won, so I'd like to see one of the four make it. Rooting for Washington, that would be great.
  12. Correct spelling, incorrect usage. Mea Culpa translates as "my fault" or "my mistake", but is meant to be applied to situations in which the person saying it actually committed the error. In this case, the mea culpa belongs to Cherington. The posters here who thought he was the correct choice (were there any? I can't remember anyone actually supporting the choice) should stick with the plain old English "I was wrong because I am uncool".
  13. Sorry, I couldn't hear the sound of his season ending over the RBI double.
  14. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120923&content_id=38895636&c_id=mlb
  15. Even though he shouldn't, I agree.
  16. I don't see why some of you are upset. Granted, the Sox losing always sucks, but once they were eliminated mathematically, all we had to cheer for was the Yankees losing the division. Once the Yankees lost today, I was hoping the Sox would, only because it let the Orioles tie for first.
  17. It buys absolutely no goodwill from me. Somehow I doubt he would feel the same way if he hadn't been caught. He's most likely trying to desperately salvage some sort of dignity after being outed as a user. If he got away with using and won the title, does anyone honestly think he would release a statement afterwards along the lines of "I won unfairly, so I am turning over the award to the league and submitting myself for punishment."? Nah. He's not sorry he cheated, he's sorry he got caught.
  18. Yeah, or maybe they don't want the negative press associated with people writing slurs in their eyeblack on national TV.
  19. I've had sex in a half dozen different stadiums, and I'm a Red Sox fan.
  20. "Remind himself not to be one?" Because...what, gay people can't play baseball well? I'm not sure what your point is there. Suspending him is not stupid. When he is on the field wearing the Blue Jays uniform, he represents the Blue Jays. If I showed up to a job at McDonalds with "You're a N*****" written on my shirt, I would be fired, and rightfully so. The dude wrote a slur on HIS FACE while he was going to be on national television, representing the Toronto Blue Jays and Major League Baseball. In order to remind him that he works for them and they don't tolerate that crap, they suspended him. As for society changing, I agree. It is disgusting that society has changed so that it is no longer socially acceptable to insult and berate gay people in public without being stigmatized. Somehow I get the feeling if it was a vicious racial slur written there everyone would be whistling a different tune.
  21. I agree, for different reasons.
  22. I don't know a lot about basketball, mainly because I hate it, but wouldn't the Thunder, the team the Internet tells me used to be the Sonics, just become the Sonics again if that happened?
  23. Yeah but Seattle doesn't count because it's full of hipsters. And hipsters only care about sports if they think they can be ironic about it. I bet among the 20-25 demographic in Seattle, there are more Supersonic and Pilots shirts than Seahawks or Mariners. Nuke 'em all!
  24. I meant in the general long-term. The Vikings have never won a Super Bowl, the Wild have never even been to a Stanley Cup, The North Stars are in Texas now, and the Lakers haven't been in Minnesota since the 50s, according to Wikipedia. The Twins are overall, the most successful team Minnesota has had besides and since the Lakers.
