  1. Yeah, close games in the postseason are great and exciting and baseball is awesome and blah blah blah but it seems like every single game this postseason aside from Game 1 of the ALDS and Game 1 of the WS have been incredibly nerve-wracking. I've had enough of this. Just score ten. Make this Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS or Game 1 of the 2007 World Series. I can't take another 1-0 game, win or lose.
  2. Funnel cakes! The most exciting thing to happen in Wyoming since...well, ever.
  3. A few months ago I would have said that Cherington was the David Ortiz of the front office. Now the Sox are up 3-2 in the World Series, and I am forced to conclude that David Ortiz is in fact the Ben Cherington of the lineup.
  4. Completely agree with the first part, vehemently disagree on the second.
  5. During the 2004 World Series Thunder was 4 years old.
  6. Its amazing to think Ortiz would have another hit, HR, and 3 RBI on his line if not for a great catch by Beltran in Game 1.
  7. I can't even really choose. Making the argument for one would involve ignoring the argument for the other. Can Co-MVPs be a thing?
  8. I can't even fathom feeling like this. If I won a million dollars on the Sox losing the World friggin Series I would feel like the worst person ever. Of course, that would never happen, because I would never bet against the Sox no matter what the odds were. No amount of money won could alleviate the emotional pain of watching the Sox lose a postseason series, especially the World Series.
  9. I give you serious credit for owning up to this by posting it yourself. We can't all be right every time. (Except me of course, because I'm awesome).
  10. I recall people (I don't know if any of them were on this site, but I know people on other sites as well as in the media world) advocating years ago trading Lester for Salty. Then the Sox got Salty anyways. That made the idea look dumb and now it just looks downright idiotic.
  11. Yeah, and in the unlikely event that the Sox lose Game Six, they have to face neither Wacha nor Wainwright. And without either of those two starting, the Cardinals have no chance at a W.
  12. Dude, that's mean. You know horses get spooked by fire.
  13. Has anyone seen Kolten Wong since the postgame interview...?
  14. Koji does it in a similar manner, but with more runs behind him.
  15. Hey, don't just go and usurp SoxSport's title like that. Everyone has their niche, don't just give them away to others.
  16. The biggest role, in my opinion. With all due respect to the f***lessly incredible performance of Koji and the plate dominance of Papi in this series, Lester outdueling Adam Wainwright twice is by far the most important factor in the Sox being 30 outs away from a World Series title.
  17. So apparently, Jon Lester is pretty good at this whole pitching thing.
  18. This is the greatest thing about baseball. Every game, something happens that has never happened before. Sometimes it's just a small thing, like two opposing pitchers from the same small town or whatever, and sometimes it's big. But there is always something, and it makes this the greatest game in the world. I love it.
  19. Puns are the most elegant form of humor. You're just jealous.
  20. We get it, we get it. You weren't Wong.
  21. He tried, but he sprained eight fingers trying to dial and his neck while asking someone else to make the call.
  22. Cardinals just made a real Maness of things.
