  1. no, because we didnt have $200 million on the field, half of that was on the DL.
  2. oh please, you are so f***ing ridiculous it makes me sick Sheffield is NOT a steroid user. He rubbed a cream containing steroids on his knee for injury. Back in September I had a really bad ear infection and the ear drops the doctor gave to me contained a steroid. Does that make me a juicer? It doesnt count for medical purposes.
  3. I dont say Cho, unless you guys mention our choke. And, you choked away the division this year. No Denying it. You also choked away the ALDS against the White Sox. You couldnt score A RUN, with the bases loaded and no outs off 80yr old El Duque. Tony G pulled a Buckner in game 1 that would have ended an inning where the Chisox went and put a 3-spot on the board for the inning. The Last time you choked was the year 2005 And dont even say anything about us choking this year, our series loss to LA was a pretty legitimate loss.
  4. Please, you've had alleged murderers (Urbina), Steroid users (Canseco, among others), racists (There is no denying that the Red Sox, throughout history, were the most racist team of all. Just ask Mr. Yawkey about that). Next time you want to talk to us about the players we have in uniform for us take a look at your All-Time roster.
  5. Fact of the matter is that while, yes, we do own claim to the worst choke in history, you hold claim to the most chokes in history. I'd rather have one extremely bad choke as opposed to countless very bad chokes. You guys should find something new besides that choke stuff, it doesnt bother us. Well it doesnt bother me, idk about the other Yankee fans here.
  6. because the opponent had f***ing catchers gear on. varitek fights Like a Bitch!
  7. he fits the description though
  8. that whole incident before the season was pure immaturity on the part of some Sox players. They were acting like Middle Schoolers picking fights about littke things. And repeatedly, after it was all over and ST had begun, Yankee players praised A-Rod for how he handled it and explained why they did nto get involved (they didnt want the situation to progress). but also, you cant say that none of the Yankees defended him, because Bernie was vocal regarding this matter throughout all of the events.
  9. I think Kay is great, I can understand why a lot of people dont like him, but they just need to look beyond some of the things that bother them. In my opinion Kay is one of the best otu there (not the best, probably not even top 5, but definately top 10). anyways.....WE FINALLY GOT AN AWARD!!! and with how my day's been going I thought that for sure Ortiz would get it, just to make my day even worse.
  10. Thats why Michael Kay is my HERO!! lol
  11. yea, Mikey's been talking about that for months. Today, Kay has a bunch of great points regarding A-Rod. hes talking about how hes an un-selfish player because of the sacrifices he makes. Such as: Moving positions, batting 2nd, etc..
  12. also, why cant you guys just accept it? If Ortiz won I would have nothing but praise for him, and I would accept it. Ive been saying for months that regardless of who wins that it is a fair selection. Bottom line is that the writers felt A-Rod deserved it. He played spectacular defense, he finished in the top5 of all Triple crown categories, and he didnt sit against tough pitchers (Remember, Francona sat Ortiz on September 11 due to his "back", but also said that if Torre took Randy out, then Ortiz would be able to hit.).
  13. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PLAYOFFS I am going to try to refrain from posting in this thread any longer because I am trying to avoid arguements...Im under enough personal stress as it is Congratulations A-Rod, you DESERVED IT, regardless of what everybody else says. EXACTLY
  14. I think with the exception of Washburn and maybe Morris, Vasquez is better than all of them. correct me if i'm wrong (which I might be), but didnt Schilling not do so hot following his domination of the Yankees. He had a few bad starts after that didnt he? I still think Papelbon needs more time to prove he can be a good starter, which he likely will be.
  15. Milton Bradley?
  16. honestly in my opinion it doesnt look much better to me than last years. Schilling-- Still has Question Marks after last year Wakefield-- OK, he should be fine Vasquez-- Needs to prove he can pitch for a team like the Sox, where there is pressure involved Clement-- See Schilling Papelbon-- No guarantees that he will be a good starter based on his bullpen performance over a half a season (though I think he will) SOme question marks, but I think thats the best you can do.
  17. they probably wouldnt
  18. lol, now I get it
  19. probably take more than just wells based on the age difference and the fact that Boomer is working with a lot of previous injuries.
  20. Yea, I have heard a lot good things about Moore. Hopefully for me you guys do get Beatte
  21. A little off-topic, I know. But ya know who would be the perfect player for the Yanks; Brandon Inge. I think we should take a shot at getting him from Detroit, probably wouldnt cost us that much. Inge is extremely versatile its ridiculous. He can play the infield, outfield, and catch. He would be especially handy if all the rumors about getting another catcher so Jorge could DH some times were true. Nobody likes to have their catcher DHing, because theyre backup would have to catch, and if he gets hurt and you bring in the regular catcher, you lose the DH and the pitcher has to hit. So if we got a Brandon Inge, he could be the backup when Jorge DHs. Now the reason i reccomend Inge rather than any other catcher is his versatility. Nobody wants to have a 3rd catcher on the bench who is exclusive to catching, just takes away depth from the bench. This guy is pretty solid, and would be the perfect bench player for us. Tell me what you think.
  22. According to the site, Theo is quite the party boy. Without a doubt, those 2 are Theo My guess is Lloyd McLendon. (sp)
  23. He'll probably take that, should be announced Monday, start of business.
  24. Q: What do Bernie Williams and Aaron Boone have in common besides the fact that they both played for the Yankees? http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/5241/berniewalkoff7ds.jpg A: They have both hit Walkoff Home Runs against the Red Sox in an ALCS (Above: Game 1, 1999 ALCS) ..Im not sure, but didnt Jeter also hit one of those things against you guys...second game of the season perhaps? Oh yea!! He Did! Here it is.. http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/9574/jeterwalkoffboston3zh.jpg wasnt a walkoff, but it was still nice to see. Dont know if any of you remember this one from Spring Training in Fort Myers against the red Sox, but I sure do http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/1175/giambisthomerunboston0fq.jpg ahh....good times
  25. Can't forget Boonie touching the plate! http://img474.imageshack.us/img474/3146/boonehomeplate9ss.jpg
