  1. nothing major, but Tim Crabtree signed with Detroit http://fantasybaseball.rotoworld.com/content/transactions.asp?sport=MLB
  2. I turned the game on just as the shootout was starting. It was amazing!!! I was yelling and screaming and everything. what a game.
  3. A lot of teams make a lot of stupid deciscions. Maybe Mr. Rogers is getting tired of 4th place and is willing to do what needs to be done to try to win. That includes taking some risks. They have plenty of cash to work with and are hungry for a winner. '92 and '93 were a long time ago, they want another one.
  4. I can do avs too if anyone needs. I can really only do action avatars, I cant do graphics and all that. Like I couldnt make backgrounds like the avatars already provided. Just things like my avatars. But, yea, go with element over me, or Red, or anyone else for that matter. (No offense Red)
  5. Do you have a way to determine his OBP from 2003-on. His days in Colorado werent that great, he didnt really establish himself until he got traded to Florida. So maybe thats why, but I could better asess if I saw his obp from 2003-2005
  6. Im tellin ya man, the Yankees need to call the Diamondbaks about Robby Hammock. This guy and RJ are extremely close, and hes young enough and has enough potential to possibly become a very good catcher in a few years. He missed the entire MLB Season last year (Played 11 Minro League Games) due to injury, so should come pretty cheap. I dont know why nobody thinks this is a good idea. I called XM Radio's night show a few weeks back and the producer laughed at me when I told him this. And when I got on the air, the host didnt think it was a bad idea, but he also didnt think it was a good idea.
  7. Yea, I would bet almost anything that NESN will carry it. YES always carries the Yankees press conferences. As ksushi said, they are also shown on ESPNEWS, but not in their entirety.
  8. I think Ryan is/is goint to be great. Bu right now if you're the Blue Jays, you have to take expensive risks in the AL East. They are tired of losing year after year due to the Sox and Yanks. Everyone else in the division is improving,so the Jays are doing what they have to do to improve as well. Like I said, I dont expect them to make any less of an effort on Burnett just because Ryan is signed up.
  9. i dont think this move means that the Jays wont get Burnett. I think they will still persue him as aggressively as they had planned on.
  10. I dont know if I can handle another amazing season. After last year I could really go for a typical Yankees season, where we cruise out in front of the division early, stay there all season, win the division, win 100+ games, and go to the playoffs. Toronto is doing everything possible to prevent that from happening.
  11. I wouldnt say that. They have a good team up there. It would be pretty nice to see them geta real SS besides Russ Johnson and John McDonald, who I like, but really cant play an everyday SS. If they do that, they will be a pretty good team. Halliday Burnett Lilly Towers Chacin Not too shabby for a Toronto starting staff.
  12. nothing about this ANYWHERE
  13. good post by that guy...some interesting options there. I wouldnt mind signing a Takatsu, Hasegawa (ive been saying for a week now that we should get him), Carter, or even Ben Weber. I would love to have him. Im not too keen on playing Escalona as the primary IF backup. But it works. I never entertained the option of Juan Gonzalez, but wouldnt mind seeing him in Tampa come febuary.
  14. I was just on the daily news site and saw nothing about this. Not until I clicked on the link in the original post. This Sucks
  15. He could have closed games for somebody else. I dont know why he would go there, I would have chosen Detroit or Cleveland over the Blue Jays
  16. what the hell did Toronto do/say to persuade him to go north of the border, eh? Also, what on earth was he thinking aboot, im sure we would have matched that, or even threw a few more dollars onto the total.
  17. Wow is right!!
  18. Yea, every winter they send me the fan and ticket information guide with details regarding all of that stuff.
  19. Rick is in the Hall, thats Wes at the bottom. Good stuff RedRuffing. How about a Red Ruffing Sox avatar
  20. Its very easy to get tier prices, but since they upped the prices on those a few years back to something like 17 or 18 bucks, id rather just pay big and sit down low. But you will occasionally find me up in tier. (Friend of mine has Tier Season Tickets and if cant go to a game he gives me tickets). I dont think it will effect the Stadium turnout at all. The Yankees, regardless of price will always draw big (at least I think so, we could always witness the 80's-early 90's again. Which I really wouldnt mind, cheaper tickets ). What it will effect is my wallet.
  21. Definately a chance, just very unlikely for front row. But yea, take the chances. Back to my point, is anybody else as mad right now as I am? this is never going to stop, in a few years it will be easier to go to a Knicks game than to a Yankee game. And we all know how hard it is to go to a Knicks game. You practically have to re-finance your house for that.
  22. Tell Me About it. I wish I had ESPN DePortes so that I could watch some Winter Ball. MLB needs to come out with that station already that theyve been talking about for a few years now. I could be wathching Winter Ball, the Asia Series (Japan's Champions vs the China All Stars), could have been watching Arizona Fall League, Olympic Qualifiers, etc.. I miss baseball
  23. Impossible to get front row unless you have season tickets, or unless you find a scalper, get Champion Box tickets, and give the usher a 50 (worth a try, but money offers dont do much for them, ive tried). Sorry pal, better off just finding a scalper, paying the 6-80 for a Champion-Box and settling. Sorry. Where you guys coming in from?
  24. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2236583 The prices for games at Yankee Stadium have gradually increased over the years, but never did I think a ticket would go for $100 during the regular season. As a kid who grew up on 161st St and River Ave going to Yankee Games my entire life this is getting ridiculous. I havent complained AT ALL the last few years as tickets have increased, but im pretty tired of it now. I no longer live in the Bronx, but still have a lot of family there, and am down there often. When I am down I like to hop on the train or the bus and head to the Stadium, get in touch with one of of my broker's scalpers and get a box seat for the game. If none of my guy's scalpers are out ill find some main reserved tickets for a good price and enjoy the game. But this is getting ridiculous, I havent talked to my broker friend yet, but im pretty sure that getting box seats from him, like normal, is going to cost 10 or 20 extra dollars from what he usually charges me (anywhere from 40-60). But thats not even the point, it is getting ridiculously unaffordable for a man to bring his family to a game. When I move back down to the Bronx for college (Fordham), going to games as much as I intend to is going to be ridiculously impossible. I think something needs to be done, these tickets shouldnt be this much. $55 for a Main Reserved is ridiculous. I remember back in the '90s my uncle used to complain about prices, but I would gladly pay those prices today rather than what we are being charged. My uncle used to tell me how it would only cost a few dollars to walk to the Stadium when he was a kid and catch a game, back in the '50s and '60s, what I wouldnt give to be paying $3 to get in. OK Baseball fans, sorry for my ranting, but I just get a little upset when rich bastards throw barriers in front of me to slow me down in my attempt to feed my baseball/yankee addiction. At least I can still go to Queens and get in for a reasonable price.
  25. Good Post Thome is definately an upgrade (if healthy) to everett. Though I think it would be in the best interest of the Sox to see if they can convince Everett to come back, whether it be as the primary bench player/backup Dh and OF or as the regular DH if Konerko doesnt come back. Overall I think it is a good trade for the Sox, Rowand is defenitaly dispensable.
