  1. I dont think so either...buit hey, as a Yankee fan I wouldnt mind, and as a Mets fan (behind the Yankees) I would be ecstatic to get this deal done to get Manny in Queens.
  2. Halsey was like their number 3 starter, and granted Navarro is garbage, hope he can turn it around Granted, off year for Duncan, but lets not discount his performance in the Arizona Fall League. He was outstanding.
  3. He definately deserves to be in there.
  4. btw...updated
  5. Plus Olivo still has the potential to become a very good catcher throughout his career. Due to what we've seen the last 2 uears or so it is unlikely, but back when he was in Chicago he was very highly touted, and the Sox were relcutant to trade him in the Garcia deal.
  6. yea, this will be his fourth team in the last 3 1/2 years. White Sox, then was traded to Seattle in the Freddy Garcia deal, then got shipped to San Diego last deadline, and was non tendered and now signs with Florida.
  7. ...but also, if you seriously think that our system is that bad that you could jokingly say Little League Baseball has better players than our system then you are a complete idiot. Our affiliates have all been in contention for their league's respective championship for the last few years in a row, and we have won several of them.
  8. Yea your right ..I didnt say that Reese would develop into a starter, I said he could develop into a backup and possibly start on a bad team, such as guys like Jeff Leifer, Emil Brown, etc. Guys like that. Trust me, by no means do I think he will ever be a productive player for the Yankees or anyone else for that matter.
  9. They got Olivo?? That one came from nowhere...thanks a lot, I hadnt seen these yet (been busy today)
  10. SETUP MAN!! Is Heilman younger?? I thought he was older, my mistake. The reason I said to leep Seo was that he has been good more often, and he had that streak last year where for a couple weeks there he was unstoppable. Heilman has been very, very inconsistant up until last year, but who knows. Either way, its a good deal.
  11. Thats cool!! Good seats (sounds like)
  12. Now when did I throw all of that in there??
  13. Good move for the Mets, I just hope they dont send Heilman in this deal. But I also like Seo very much. Heilman is older so MAYBE he would be the best bet to send ...eh, whoi knows, im just happy about getting him here in New York.
  14. relax man, the purpose of my exclamation points isnt to try to make myself right ...it was a suggestion, lets drop it ...I find it amazing that you will find any little thing to get on me about
  15. lol, I know, it was mainly a sarcastic, yet joking-ish sort of tirade lol
  16. dont get me wrong guys, Henn isnt my favorite guy either and if you've seen some of my posts (He is trade bait in my eyes) you will know how I feel, but I have to defend the guy ..I dont expect him to be a front of the rotaton guy, but you NEVER know, just like with Cano, Piazza, guys like that.
  17. I appologize everybody, I didnt mean to start a big thing here....I am sorry, I f***ed up big here for suggesting that POkey might have been a good idea. I hope everyone can forgive me (or at least drop it)
  18. some rookies need an entire year to get their feet wet. He had 3 starts, give him a break.
  19. I appologize for being COMPLETELY oof on this suggestion. I thought it would be a good move considering he is better than the Shortstop you have right now!!
  20. Like Yankee fans do with Paul O'neill for his entire tenure with the Yankees....Paul O'Neill is a GOD in New York.
  21. you are definately underrating his defense, while he is no Ryne Sandberg yet, he was still pretty solid last year, just a few rookie mistakes. And if you need to see more from Cano then you must neeed to see EVEN MORE from Papelbon before talking about him as highly as you Sox fans do. So I dont want to ever see you post soething about how Papelbon "is such a great pitcher, next roger clemens, etc., etc., etc...", otherwise you are a hypocrite.
  22. And how do you know all of this exactly? You are basing your judgements on a few Major League games. Henn is pretty highly touted and Bean has been talked about A LOT lately (even on this board), he just hasnt had a real chance yet. He did do good in his appearance last May.
  23. I am surprised the Sox didnt make a a push for him considering his popularity in 2004 (and obviously their need for a SS)
  24. yea, Red Sox fans are convinced that Little League Baseball of America has better players than our farm system. But just because somebody isnt a top prospect doesnt mean they wont turn out good. Scouts arent always dead on. The Yankees couldnt give Robinson Cano away in 2004 (The Rangers rejected him as an extra player int he A-Rod deal, the D-Backs didnt want him, as well as some other teams) but look at him now.
  25. what are you talking about? Bean has great stuff and would be on any other teams active roster right now!! (and if hes such a stiff then why did you uys take him in the Rule 5 prior to 2004?), cant say Henn is a stiff based on what, 3 starts? Melky had a VERY good season last year in the minors. Phillips isnt a journeyman, he has only been with the Yankees, he has just been in the system a while. Matt Smith has drawn comparrisons to B.J. Ryan, Sardinha had a good AFL season, not sure how he did in the regular season, but he wasnt that bad. Shelley Duncan (2B, Trenton) had a GREAT season, we had a bunch of really good players in Staten Island this year, Eric Duncan we all know about, Philip Hughes we all know about, J. Brent Cox could make his Major League debut this coming season (would have been a callup had our roster not been so filled) and was relentlessly compared to Hansen before/during the draft. We have the SS Henry who is supposed to be VERY GOOD, Mitch Jones had a very good year (granted, he is 28 ), Cosme was pretty solid for Columbus, Marsonek, when healthy, has some heat, DePaula, before he had his Tommy John surgery had actually won a spot in the rotation out of Spring Training in 2004, had a GREAT callup in 2003 (anyone remember in his debut where he had a perfect game and lost it in the 7th??), Dave Parrish could make somebody's roster as a backup catcher out of Spring Training if he was a Free Agent, Kevin Thompson has projected to be a pretty solid Center Fielder and had a pretty good year last year (dont have numbers in front of me, but I believe it was more then pretty good), Kevin Reese could develop into a pretty good outfielder, a good 4th outfielder (maybe a starter on a bad team) AT LEAST ...I am done for now, but you get my point.
