  1. yea, he was 24 in Seattle. As for MLB 06, go here.. http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5535
  2. I know its not important. I was just a little surprised is all.
  3. Good luck to him. I really enjoyed him when he was here.
  4. I just read that he is doing it because he has 3 kids. http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20051209&content_id=1280298&vkey=news_cin&fext=.jsp&c_id=cin Pretty dumb if you ask me. I bet all of those people who payed $200 for a Griffey, #30 jersey are pretty mad right about now. lol
  5. Well im playing MLB 06 and I notice Griffey has number 3. I get a confused look on my face and immediately think to myself that they must have made a mistake or something. But I wasnt satisfied with that, I needed to know for sure. So I just signed on and went to the Reds website to see that Griffey is in fact wearing 3 this year. Why? I dont get it. And what I dont get even more is why I hadnt heard this until now. Im usually up on those things
  6. The crowd for the Japan game yesterday was pretty good. Not as many people as there should have been, but certainly more than there were for the Korea/Chinese Taipei. But that isnt saying much. I had more people in my house today than the Tokyo Dome had fans for that game last night (and for the record, the largest ammount of people in my house at any given time today was 5 )
  7. is he? oops I didnt know that. Thanks
  8. Yea, I noticed you havent really been posting too much over at the Amazin Mets site that my friend owns. Good to see you there when you are in fact there though. But I, too havent been there much lately. ...but anyways. Tony would be a good fit here. He has a house in Amityville, Long Island (from what i've heard), so i'm sure he'll be comfortable. However, unless Omar can trade Kaz (which is looking pretty unlikely), Tony won't get as much playing time as he would hope for as he'll either be Kaz's backup or platoon mate.
  9. What are you talking about? Baseball is very popular in Asia. Although its mainly Japan and Korea, the popularity is there. You were able to watch the game prior to ESPN2 airing it at midnight? How. The reason i could is that appearantly the NY UPN provider got rights to the WBC or something, and we got to see it live here in NY while the rest of the country had to wait until midnight to tune in. But if you got to see it live too, then thats cool. I'm curious how though (as I am still trying to figure out what the deal with the UPN thing is). OK, for those of you watching it now, you still have some time left. I'm going to give my analysis on the game now, so if you dont want to know the outcome before you see the end of the game..stop reading ------------------ ------------------ ------------------ ------------------ Again, the Korean pitching was VERY impressive. Thats pretty much all there is to it. Despite the China homer in the 9th, Korea's pitching has been very good over the last 2 games. Now granted, they havent exactly been facing offensive powerhouses (although Chinese Taipei is pretty good), so we'll be able to tell more about their pitching when they play Japan tomorrow. Regardless, with the 9-1 win tonight, in addition to their win yesterday, Korea will be advancing to the next round. Like I said yesterday, these guys are my sleeper.
  10. Game was alright today. Melky looked very good. Mitch Jones looks to be in a lot better shape than he was in last year. Mendoza looked good until he walked the bases loaded...and the killer for me today was my boy Frank Brooks getting the loss
  11. He was picked up from Atlanta, right?
  12. I agree that Oakland is a great team, with a FANTASTIC pitching staff. However, I think with the LA offense, and the fact that their pitching is pretty good as well, that they take the division. Though I wouldnt be surprised one bit if Oakland took it.
  13. its really not that hard, im sure you'll figure it out and get the hang of it after a while
  14. Wow. Yea, now that you mention it I vaguely remember reading about the Toronto thing at one point, but the TB thing is new to me. But yea, no Smackdown until Saturday for people in the New York/Tri-State area. But yea, on UPN here, it'll be live, while when you guys catch it on ESPN2, it will be on delay.
  15. also, whats with the sig, Moose? Toronto Giants??
  16. http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5459&page=3
  17. so Schil, you're doing two leagues?
  18. Korea looked VERY good in my opinion. Especially Seo. I wouldnt be surprised if they went deep in this tournament. They are definately my sleeper. And although my pick for the final 4 teams are US, Japan, DR, and Cuba; I totally wouldnt be surprised if Korea ended up there. And if anyone strayed up to watch the game, did you guys notice how EMPTY that place was. There was literally NOBODY there for the Korea/Taiwan game, it was ridiculous. As for Japan, obviously a different story for their game. Place was much more filled, though still a lot of empty seats. But as for Japan on the field, they too looked VERY good. They TORE UP China, 18-2 I believe in 8 innings due to the mercy rule. Nobody expected Japan to be a power team in this thing, but they had 3 homers in the game, and just put on an offensive SHOW. OK , so the next game i'll be able to see is Korea vs China tonight at 9 (on UPN), you guys wont be able to see it until like midnight, I believe. But I predict that Korea wins, just based on how good and fundamentally sound they looked in their first game, and how bad Chinca looked against Japan.
  19. umm..I didnt notice a thread to discuss the games or anything, so I made one.
  20. I was just noticing yesterday the lack of moves made by the Angels this offseason. However, that doesnt take away from the fact that their still a great team, and a headache for the Yankees. I think their going to take the Division, win over 90 games, and just be your typical Angels.
  21. DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant get it. It wont come in for some reason. DirecTV is REALLY pissing me off today. Im gonna get to the bottom of this one!
  22. I already mentioned this in the Spring Training thread. Sounds pretty cool to me
  23. Today was just absolutely horrible to see. He got knocked around by a couple minor leaguers. Not good.
  24. I hope I can watch this game tonight. DirecTV was being a bitch earlier and had the Rockies/White Sox blacked out on FSN: Rocky Mountain. Which doesnt make sense because A) its spring training, they never black out spring training games. And B ) I have the baseball package. So hopefully tonight I can get it, as its on FSN: North.
