  1. I would be waiting outside the Yankee Stadium press gate tomorrow morning awaiting the arrival of Brian Cashman with all sorts of unusual weapons if this were true. Especially for a guy as overrated (in my opinion) as Carlos Lee.
  2. I loved seeing Damon at first I watched until the 4th then came home and it was in a rain delay and started watching again as the game resumed. Can anybody fill me in on why players were out of position?
  3. I didnt really mind too much. Ruben Sierra wore it too. And I think Russ Johnson did in spring training this year as well (if not him then someone else). Melky f***ing Cabrera!!!!!!!!!
  4. The same applies to just about every member of Red Sox Nation when it comes to the Yankees.
  5. Dude shut up, just drop it. I realized I messed up, now just let it die. If you would like I will reiterate my statement.. So he deserves to be captain because of a violent outburst? What a message that must send to the kids. Way to go guys! No wonder so many idiots come out of Red Sox Nation.
  6. yeah lol, good point. I didnt notice who the poster was.
  7. yeah lol, I realize I was late on the first point. This is the first time i've visited this thread in a month or so, so I hadnt seen it yet. And yes, I realize that Varitek refuses to sign any pictures of the incident, which is very classy and respectable. I definately admire Varitek no question. My point wasnt supposed to be negative towards Varitek, but negative towards that example and the statement that that is the reason he deserves that "C".
  8. So he deserves to be captain because of a violent outburst? What a message that must send to the kids. Way to go guys! No wonder so many idiots come out of Boston. Also, this next point is irrelevent and has nothing to do with clutch performance (well I suppose it does, but not entirely), but since this is the Jeter thread I guess i'll point it out in here. Jeter is second in the AL in hitting witha .345 average I believe. Second only behind Mauer's 373. So I hope all of you guys who like to criticize Jeter's offensive abilities and talent in general enjoy eating those words.
  9. Yeah, take your shots. I was wrong and can accept that. Did I ever try to dodge that? Yeah, thought not.
  10. I wonder if Mazzilli had any influence on this move.
  11. Hey who knows...maybe its time for a career revival for the fat guy.
  12. HAvent noticed, but the two are actual very close personal friends. thats why Al took the job at YES.
  13. BRACKET ONE Lou Gehrig (New York Yankees) vs Dolph Camilli (Brooklyn Dodgers) Willie McCovey (San Francisco Giants) vs Don Mattingly (New York Yankees) Jeff Bagwell (Houston Astros) vs Todd Helton (Colorado Rockies) Johnny Mize (St. Louis Cardinals) vs Rod Carew (Minnesota Twins) BRACKET TWO Jimmie Foxx (Philadelphia Athletics) vs Mark Grace (Chicago Cubs) vs Cecil Cooper (Milwaukee Brewers) Harmon Killebrew (Minnesota Twins) vs Andres Galarraga (Montreal Expos) Mark McGwire (Oakland Athletics) vs Keith Hernandez (NEW YORK METS) Ernie Banks (Chicago Cubs) vs Tony Perez (Cincinnati Reds) BRACKET THREE Eddie Murray (Baltimore Orioles) vs Gil Hodges (Brooklyn Dodgers) Dick Allen (Philadelphia Phillies) vs Wally Joyner (Kansas City Royals) vs Jim Thome (Cleveland Guardians) Frank Thomas (Chicago White Sox) vs Orlando Cepeda (San Francisco Giants) Roger Connor (New York Giants) vs Joe Judge (Washington Senators) BRACKET FOUR Hank Greenberg (Detroit Tigers) vs Fred McGriff (Atlanta Braves) Dan Brouthers (Buffalo Bisons) vs Mickey Vernon (Washington Senators) George Sisler (St. Louis Browns) vs Will Clark (Texas Rangers) Cap Anson (Chicago Cubs) vs Norm Cash (Detroit Tigers) vs Kent Hrbek (Minnesota Twins) I bsed my votes not on their defensive ability as a first baseman but as overall players since you didnt specify otherwise. If it is solely based on defense let me know and I will make some changes.
  14. Wow...f*** you guys. I get all sorts of gay accusations for commenting on a suit? f*** you *******s. Idiots who can't appreciate a nice suit. f*** off.
  15. Damn One of my favorite things to do during All Star Week is watch the Legends/Celebrity Softball Game (which takes place after the futures game but isnt aired until a day later following the HR Derby) and I was under the impression that there would be a reply of it tonight after the HR Derby replay. So I decided I would do some other things while it was on and planned on watching the replay. GUess What...NO REPLAY! I'm pissed now because I know they'll never replay it and it honestly is my favorite part of the festivities. ...I really need a DVR DirecTV receiver
  16. I could definately see that
  17. It really doesnt make much sense to assemble a list like this. Or at least labeling it worst defensive players of ALL TIME considering from 1876 (MLB's first year) to the 1950's-1970's (when teams starting broadcasting all of their games) we really werent able to see all of the players play defensively. I think it's a good idea to make the lst for Worst Defensive PLayers by positiopn from ESPN's debut (The addition of a Sports highlight show really helped out considering it really wasnt possible to see out of market games until the last few years) to the present day.
  18. I'm assuming they had a few second delay like many live events do nowadays (which annoys the s*** out of me because if its a postseason or Fox game I cant nute the TV and listen to the radio). Its pretty pathetic when you can't catch the word on time with a delay.
  19. http://www.jorgeposada.com/images/galagallery/g5.jpg Derek Jeter, Vanessa Manillo, Laura Posada, and Jorge. Just wanted to share this pic in case nobody has ever seen Jorge's hot wife, Laura. Also, i'm usually not too into light colored suits, but that suit Jeter is wearing is definately pretty nice. Also, let me reiterate how HOT Laura Posada is. On a scale of 1-10 she's a 20
  20. Well appearantly Jorge's wife Laura (who is HOT, btw) and their two kids were aboard a Tampa bound flight that departed fro LaGuardia. About 15 minutes before landing in Tampa a man (who appearantl is from the Bronx, served in Iraq, and ironically was wearing a Yankee hat) ran and smashed into the cockpit a few times. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/story/433914p-365558c.html
  21. I definately have to agree. As much as I complain about the treatment here, i'd much rather be a Yankee fan at talksox than a Sox fan at nyyfans. Great point.
  22. He was actually pretty good on the air. I must give him that. As was Ortiz. ALso, anybody catch how they would mute it a few times for a second whenever Wright started to say "Damnit!" haha
  23. I actually picked Wright to finish 1, and Howard to finish 2. Almost had it. Coco's Discpiles, I cant lie. That is a hilarious avatar. Make it yourself or find it somewhere?
  24. i post as geo3b4 at nyyfans but rarely go there. too busy for me to keep up with everything. and plus they have a lot of s***** rules.
