  1. All it is really is a tribute to him. It's not trying to make anything right. Other than retiring his number, it's MLB's way of honoring him on the day he broke the color barrier.
  2. Every game counts. If they play well out the gate, establish a nice lead in standings and all that then come August/September they don't have to worry about catching up a bunch of games just to make the playoffs while some players are injured or fatigued.
  3. What has this guy done wrong? I don't see a problem
  4. Yeah, he isn't a great defensive catcher. He's terrible at throwing runners out. I saw the other day that last season pitcher's ERAs were about 1 or 2 higher with V-Mart at catcher, I can't remember the details. Would be great if you could have Varitek just out there defensively and V-Mart bat for him.
  5. Yes, the Twins are very good. I just expect the Sox to be better.
  6. Yup this team can suck it. All they've been for the past few seasons is inconsistent. I'm not believing this whole front office propaganda "they get on base, keep the line moving, blah blah blah" s***. Victor Martinez needs to become a better defensive catcher. Drew needs to suck it up and take a f***ing swing every so often and not whine about straining something everyday. We need a better bullpen. Beltre needs some PEDs, apparently. Also Ortiz.
  7. I don't care how early in the season it is, or whatever, but this team f***ing sucks.
  8. That is awesome. It made me think how crazy it would be to be a pitcher and come out to the main theme from A Fistfull Of Dollars. this: God, that is so epic.
  9. I noticed that during the game, it worried me. Thanks for the posts, now I understand all this better.
  10. "*Pedro Feliciano, New York Mets: "Hips Don't Lie", Shakira" lmao *Cliff Floyd, Chicago Cubs: "Theme from Sanford and Son" awesome *Mike Lamb, Houston Astros: "Am I Evil", Metallica i now love mike lamb I'd come up to bat with the intro to piss angel by pig destroyer playing. I'd end up hitting 2 home runs each at bat. Or the beginning of Overkill by Motorhead
  11. Yes, I would. According to statistical analysis, Pearl Jam sucks.
  12. In the end, every player playing baseball is overpaid. No one should make millions upon millions for playing a f***ing game
  13. JD Drew is overrated. Good, but overrated. But not as overrated as that hack of a band Pearl Jam. They are the Nickelback of the early 90's. Except instead of singing about getting drunk and f***ing, like nickelback does, they basically wrote emo s***.
  14. Joe West's double chin is pathetic and embarrassing. But Curt Schilling is right. But that's not the only problem. These are 2 teams with great pitch working lineups. That adds more time. Plus there seems to be more arguments over calls on plays, deliberately wasting time by catchers and others to give relief pitchers more time, and other things.
  15. from Alex Speier on twitter: Francona tells WEEI that Ortiz will start vs Pettitte. 'We want guys to go up there and feel fearless and not look over their shoulders' Francona needs to stop this ********. Really. Think about the overall performance of the team instead of how one guy feels.
  16. Congrats, you noticed. It's a message board, I talk for the sake of talking. If I gave a damn about someone taking my opinion seriously or anything like that i'd have a stroke quicker than if i were watching JD Drew in an at-bat after the 7th inning.
