  1. NESN's new little scoreboard thing is a pain. I don't get why they just didn't leave it as that one bar across the whole top, it was easier to read.
  2. First of all, Kid? Get off your PMS powered high horse. Don't tell me what I'm a fan of, I know damn well what I am a fan of. I'm a fan of the Red Sox and i'm not going to blindly follow them whether they win or lose. If a team is doing terrible i'm going to have an issue with it. A lot of people are. That does not make them "fair weather". I really wonder how you get away with being so condescending to people on this board.
  3. lol, people really expect others just to sit around and watch a s***** team lose, just for loyalty? Guess I should watch all the games and punish myself by watching this losing crap just so I can preserve my status as a "true" fan
  4. Exactly that. They want him to have everyday playing time instead of sporadic playing time in the majors, to help his development.
  5. This. He needs protection.
  6. If the front office cared so much what casual fans thought they wouldn't of traded Nomar so quick in 2004. He was one of the most popular players at the time of his trade and while some people seemed upset he was gone everyone got over it in a few days and no ticket sales were lost. People weren't abandoning ship, hating the team all of a sudden or anything. Same thing in 2008 with Manny. Ortiz hasn't been traded or released because they won't get much back in a trade, releasing him would just be a waste of their money, and he started last year worse than this year and ending up being fine the rest of the year, and they expect the same this year.
  7. Reality Prediction: Red Sox will come in third behind Yankees and Rays, with a record somewhere around 86-76.
  8. Yeah he should of. He should of straight up admitted that it was a wrong decision. The hell with relationships and all that ********. This is a team of grown men in a business. If you f*** up you should get s*** for it. Enough of this pussy "let's not hurt a players feelings by benching them or cutting them" stuff.
  9. And those won games in those series were won by 1 run. Especially with the Orioles that s*** is unacceptable. The only other series win was against the f***ing Royals. It's the end of the month. 6 series in, we've won 3 of them. It very easily could of been only 1 series. Very easily.
  10. still waiting for the "It's april" crew to show up.
  11. Francona is not a good manager. I said that in 04, and I still say it now. Just because this team has won around 95 games a year and 2 world series in his tenure does not make him good. Anybody with any sort of experience would of done pretty much the same.
  12. Francona is getting on my nerves.
  13. Ortiz will turn it around. But what I think a huge part of the reason he hasn't done well is not having someone big behind him. Once Manny was gone this regression started. I think it's a mental thing with him, probably felt comfortable hitting infront of someone like Manny.
  14. wow that just really happened
  15. I'm an out of shape fat f*** and I could steal off them for sure.
  16. Because it's more entertaining to watch millionaires give you basically the same product. This team is pathetic.
  17. Calm down. Adjustments must be made to become more succesful, but unloading a bunch of players of that caliber is not the way to go.
  18. Woah suns outta left field with the knowledge!
  19. It's 4/20, the team needs to spark up a bong and spark up the offense
  20. lol the whole f***ing place has to go nuts just cause they scored a run. Pathetic
  21. Never made a game thread in my 5 years here. Always wanted to. So I'm doing it. If I just can't up and do it then I apoligize, you can delete this and someone else can make it. Jon Lester 7.20, 0-1 vs Matt Garza 1.13, 2-0 Lester pitched 5 innings in his last start against the Twins, gave up 4 earned runs. Matt Garza pitched 8 innings in his last start and gave up only 1 earned run against the Orioles. We are not the Orioles. We got this. Today, we catch EN FUEGO
  22. You're right, it isn't. But then again most threads are never usually funny until you grace us with a masturbation joke or something similar.
  23. I hate this "hurr it's only been 2 weeks, X amount of games, you all are overreacting" crap. People are generally concerned. I'm concerned. I've seen this team go through slumps and all that s*** in the past, but the way this team has looked is abysmal. Of course it can turn around. But the defense has been sloppy, the offense anemic, and the bullpen has looked terrible. They had a month of spring training games to get their defense together, get their timing, all that. Of course people are going to be concerned about David Ortiz. It took him until June to get started last year. But this isn't last year. This is not the same offense. For this offense to work most of it must be working in unison. The big thing about this team is run prevention. Run prevention does not work when people are playing shoddy defense and pitchers are getting hard hit.
