    These are all great moves by Theo (Miller, Clement, etc.). At least one of them will contribute and if they all do well and stay healthy then you can say 2005 World Champion Red Sox!

    I'd definately go to the Anaheim game. I sat in right field in one of the games when the sox swept them and saw Vladdy throw a bullet to home. It was awesome!

    I think this is a great trade and it looks like we got two quality bench players out of this. And Yankeessuck013's quote makes Vazquez and Payton sound like they have enough speed to steal bases. If they do not supply the speed Roberts did and we need a speedster on the bench we can sign a cheap option on the market. I will, however, miss Roberts a lot.

    If this is true, im not sure about signing foreign players. Lim Chang-yong might turn out to be a total bust, like many recent foreign pitchers brought in from their countries, and Taguchi might be another K. Matsui. Do you know their stats? Whats your source?

    I think that this is what everyone thinks...since tek isnt GREAT offensively we should take these negotiations to the deadline (Jan 8th rite?) and if he signs, great, I'd love to have him back. If not, get shneider or someone to replace him for a year or two until shopp is ready.

    I still like this signing, no matter what you yankee fans say. With the run support he will do just fine (15-ish wins). Plus, he has a nasty slider.

    In the begining of the offseason, i thought we would have signed pavano, re-signed pedro, got varitek back easily, and be in great shape. Right now we have accomplished none of those, but i agree with how theo's handled the situation. I think we should have let pedro go earlier since he was asking for to much re$$$pect and pushed harder for pavano, thats the only thing i dont understand. I like Renteria, him and Hanley will make a great middle of the infield (if we dont trade Hanley). Wells is okay in my book, not sure how he'll do, he'll fit right in with our "idiot"-like clubhouse.

    What if we've signed Wells to give us backup on a trade. For example put either Arroyo and Wake with Millar or Minky for some shortstop.

    thats true sarasoxfan. For example, since GScheff is playing for the yankees, i hate him, he even made that comment bout the sox in the alcs (in my signature) but if all of the sudden he was available to be signed and wanted to come to beantown would I want him signed HELL YES! (if nixon some how was injured or sumtin)

    I think that we hate boras because he hasnt really done as much as tek for us and we are to loyal to varitek, resulting in us blaming boras. In truth boras is a great agent who looks for as much as he can get for his clients.
