  1. zenny, you should seriously become a scout
  2. I've never heard of this guy
  3. Talk about a classic in the making!
  4. I meant to say:Does anyone know who we'll sign with those picks?
  5. Manny Declarman is MINE
  6. but why cover up now? They have Bernie in CF now and traded Lofton probably expecting to land Beltran
  7. Delgado had 32 HRs and 99 RBIs last year, Ortiz had 41 HRs and 139 RBI's, Manny 43 HRs and 130 RBIs. That would be a NASTY 3-4-5 combination. Compered to Rolen, Pujols, and Edmonds (122 HRs 358 RBIs) we are just under them with 116 HRs and beat them with 368 RBIs. Plus, Delgado only played 128 games so we'd be the AL Cardinals in terms of offense with better pitching.
  8. most likely a player to be named later
  9. I dont think many peeps will be scared at the begining of the season but their pitching staff could be pretty damn good. pedro might repeat last year's performance and zambrano, benson and glavine back him up.
  10. I will miss that headcase too.
  11. Yeah, but the only reason he would need it was for money, since he has enough money he should give it to the sox because its more important to them than him, if he had any heart at all he would give it back to the sox.
  12. Why the hell would he take it anyway, with his salary he shouldnt take it for money.
  13. At least most of our bullpen isnt 35, 36, or 37
  14. That would really be suck ass if he kept it. He basically kept it in his glove, put it in his locker, then have his wife take it out without asking anybody if he could take it.
  15. minky currently has it but wont give it back, here's the link... http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2005/01/07/for_now_hes_having_a_ball/
  16. Even if Wells doesnt hold up we can try to get Ben Sheets with some of our prospects (that the Yankees dont have). But if Johnson doesnt hold up, who do they have to replace him? Sturtze?Oh yeah did you know that johnson hasnt won in yankee stadium since '91?
  17. According to Bill James Clement had 5 "tough Losses" probably because of the low run support so thats 14 wins from him (if he repeats the performence) and Miller, if he's healthy will get the extra wins we need.
  18. Houston, love Oswalt
  19. The Yanks bullpen was better then the Sox bullpen? What are YOU smoking? Maybe they were in June july but the Sox were better from then on. Especially in the playoffs when Mariano blew at least 2 saves and we held you scoreless in games 4 and 5.
  20. RJ is the only good pitcher in your starting rotation that is good. Pavano could get good but from what I know of him (14 runs given up to Sox in 1st inning) isnt there yet. Wright I dont know much about so I wont comment. Mussina is inconsistent and hasnt been good since he signed w/ the Yanks. Brown is just a pinhead.
  21. Our bullpen also has the advantage over theirs, especially if mantei comes through
  22. Though the yanks have gotten RJ and will probably get Beltran I'm still not afraid of them. They will (if they land Beltran) have a good balanced line-up (3 righties, lefties, and 3 switch) and at least 8 of them can hit 20+ HR's next year (or so I hear). The Sox have somewhat of the same balance with Tek, Bellhorn, and Bill Mueller switch hitting, Minky (if we keep him), Nixon, Damon, and Papi hittin lefty, Then Renteria, Manny, and Millar (if we keep him) batting righty. We will also have 7 players returning with at least 11+ in HR's not including Renteria. As for pitching I am happy with our pick ups in Clement and Miller, both have talent. Clement, according to the new Bill James book, had 5 "Tough Losses" mostly because of the low run support and if you count those his record is 14- 8 not including the no decisions that when he left, left the cubs leading. Miller can be excellent (2001, 2002) if he stays healthy and has a very good slider when his wind up is smooth. I also like the Dave Roberts trade. Now we have an excellent bench with starting material in Payton.
  23. In a defensize comparison the Sox are better defensively in the infield. I give my reasons at the bottom 1b- If we keep Minky, edges Tino 2b- Bellhorn edges Womack 3b- A-Fraud edges Mueller ss- Renteria edges Jeter At first, its no contest, Minky is far better defensively. At second, Bellhorn had 61 errors in 124 games, Womack had 80+ in 133 games. At third Mueller had 14 errors in 96 games, A-Fraud had 13 in 155 games. At short Jeter has 13 with a RF of 4.46, Rent had 11 with a RF of 4.11
  24. I dont understand why we would not keep Minky. We already have the offense and Minky will have a better season at the plate. Pitching and Defense wins games.
  25. I think we should stick with minky. If we traded him we wouldn't have anyone from the Nomar trade, basically canceling out our defense that led us to a WS last year. Plus Millar is annoying and Minky has a better bat then we think, especially with the monster.
