  1. Mauer was significantly better last year than he is this year, and he only walked twice in the 2009 ALDS (neither of the intentional variety).
  2. I think we all kind of know that this means nothing. What happened in 2003 and 2004 (and even in 2009) means nothing. Even if you want to talk about this year, the Yankees went 4-2 against the Twins, but the Twins held their own, and easily could have won four or five of those games. This is the best pitching the Twins have had, and I think this series is pretty much a toss up. Saying the Twins aren't going to win this series because of their history with the Yankees is tantamount to saying A-Rod couldn't perform in the postseason...
  3. No news on the Yankees' starting pitching after game one, as we're now less than 48 hours away from first pitch.
  4. Well, right now there isn't even a column for a backup QB. Obviously that should be included. How far past that we want to go should be voted on I guess.
  5. The only negative is that people may very well lose interest at some point.
  6. I was hoping to fill out my linebacking corp with him. Nice pick.
  7. I had not looked closely at the pitching matchups CD listed until bsox's post. There's absolutely no chance that AJ starts in the first round. CC will come back on short rest in game four, and the game two starter would pitch game five on normal rest. Also, based on Gardenhire's decisions in the past, I bet he does the same thing, and goes with a three man rotation. However, I'm not nearly as sure about that as I am about what the Yankees will do.
  8. That wouldn't surprise me at all. At this point, the only pitcher I trust is CC. But with that being said, I still trust Pettitte more than Hughes right now, especially if the series goes five games.
  9. Game 2: 10/7 Game 5: 10/12
  10. One good start, one awful start, and one decent start (his numbers in his last start are very deceiving). He's by no means a sure thing, but I'd much rather him than Hughes at this point, especially if there's a game five.
  11. When would Pettitte need to go on short rest?
  12. It's total speculation on Jacko's part. It's possible, but I really hope Joe doesn't go that route.
  13. Hooray for CD's postseason threads! Looking forward to some good discussion about this series over the next couple days.
  14. Curtis Lofton, ILB
  15. Haha I completely understand. Divinity's comment was ridiculous, and deserved a harsh response.
  16. Hmm, I don't know. It's Sunday night though, so I'd say there's a good chance he'll be on at some point. Lets give him at least a few hours before we skip him again.
  17. The Twins are also struggling a bit, having lost seven of their last nine. Additionally, momentum usually doesn't mean all that much going into the postseason.
  18. Actually, I don't think this is how it works. This pick has no relation to his last pick.
