  1. You got to give Brown at least a little credit. It's either he sucks when he pitches bad or the team he is facing sucks when he pitchs well. Players like Kotsay, Kendall, Chavez, Hatteberg, Kielty, and Durazo are pretty good hitters. Also he outdueled the AL ERA leader.
  2. He was the mvp of the all star game last year and yes he deserved to start.
  3. Its tough to say he is the best 2B in a league with Alfonso Soriano.
  4. When Hatteberg hit the ground ball to Tino he got confused about what to do w. it. Don't say he missed the bag because he really didn't want to step on the bag because that would eliminate the force play at home.
  5. Tust me, all Yankee fans are worried but real Yankee fans are not just gonna drop the team because we are not bandwagon fans. Also I don't know if we are gonna be able to make a trade but the teams not as bad as your saying. ARod, Jeter, Sheffield, and Matsui are still very effective while Womack's starting to hit. (Sheff just homered). RJ's last 2 starts were very good against 2 good hitting teams, Texas and Toronto. Mussina last start was good. Pavano was not very good in the last start but he has been pretty good lately. Mariano is still very effective and what most Red Sox fans forget about lasts years ALCS was that Mo saved game 1 and 2, blew game 4, but game 5 was Gordon's fault. I wouldn't be shocked if this team was right back in it in July but if they comeback from this it will take some time.
  6. All you Red Sox fans are trying to convince us that the Yanks are done in the first week of May. The Red Sox were supposed to be done after the third game of lasts years ALCS and them winning the ALCS was a much better comeback than if the Yankees turned it around this year. All of you guys gave up after the third game you say it yourselves after game 3. You were just hoping to win a game to maintain some dignity.
  7. its really unfair to count the yankees out on may 5th because u really begin to learn about a team during july and august. the yankees have there problems but so does every team. the yankees have the talent to turn it around and if you they get on a role everyone better watch out. oh and by the way i read in sports weekly that clemens has a verbal agreement w. astros owner drayton mcclain that they can trade him to the yankees if the astros fall out the race by july 31. it wouldnt get much better than johnson and clemens at the top of a rotation.
  8. maybe henn will pitch well tonite nd he cud replace brown, you never know i think everyone knows what i mean by 1965 one more thing, do red sox fans think the yanks are done?
  9. It's only May and as a Yankee fan I can't help but be a little worried. Heres my breakdown of the Yanks so far: Starting Rotation: 1. Johnson has been good lately and hopefully his injury isn't too serious so i'm not too worried about him. 2. Pavano has showed flashs of being very good but he tends to be inconsistent. Blowing a 3 run lead against the Blue Jays does nothing to help my confidence in him. 3. Mussina has also been inconsistent but his only Mussina like starts this year were the first one against the Sox nd mondays against the d-rays. Hopefully he is the same pitcher the struck out 15 Orioles in the ALCS and the one who shut out the A's with the yanks backs against the wall. 4. Wang has one good start and I am going to reserve judgement. 5. Brown has been awful. A-Rod, Jeter, and Sheff have been good and i expect Matsui to turn it around but other than that they have not really hit. Mariano is only bad against the Sox and Gordon is awful. Groom has surprised me and I hope Tanyon gets back I hope this is NOT 1965.
  10. congratulations on making the world series and good luck, you guys played very well and deserve to win
  11. i know it's not over yet but i have given up congratulations and if you hang on to this win good luck in the world series........see ya in april
  12. lowe on 2 days, brown on 3 days
  13. unfortunately players do this when they are facing blowing a 3-0 lead
  14. trust me i don't believe in the whole 1918 "curse thing" i just think that some years, 46', 75', 78', 86', 03', they have just been unlucky im nervous about this series tho
  15. its just drizzling right now, and it is cold, they will start on time i think
  16. obviously i am a yankee fan but i am not here to cause any trouble, just here to talk some yankee - red sox baseball
  17. if there were to be a game 7 i am very curious as to who would be the starters with no one really having normal rest
  18. tonight should be interesting schilling's only other postseason loss was in game 1 of the 93' world series and his number in that game and in game 1 this series are very much alike, in 93' he pitched in game 5 of that series and pitched a complete game shut lieber is due for a bad start and i sure hope it doesn't come tonight because all bets are off in a game 7
  19. i'm very interested to know what the red sox fans think schilling can give them tonight, because i'm pretty worried that schilling can shut down the yanks boston has won five world series, but the red sox have only won 4 i believe because 1 of those world series victories was in 1903 when they were the boston pilgrims
  20. if the sox win this year no one will care about their past performance, i'm a die hard yankees fan, but trust me, im nervous
  21. roberts is very valuable to the red sox, the problem is the yanks have the same thing in lofton and crosby they just don't use them
  22. first: sheffs comments are stupid all ballplayers should keep theor mouths shut and the same goes for the red sox second: clutch is not in middle of the series games, clutch is when you have a chance to close out a series third: the red sox are a better team then the yanks, i'm not a stupid yankee fan and if you go pitcher for pitcher they are better and pitching is the name of the game fourth: the red sox did a good job with these two wins but it means nothing if they don't win this series fifth: if the yanks blow a 3-0 lead i only have 1 thing to say "lets go new york (football) giants" sixth: you can't kill mariano in game 5 because he really didn't have a chance seventh: joe torre has made some decisions this series that have been so crazy
  23. There is no curse. The Red Sox have just been an incredibly unlucky and a team without the possibilitly of coming up in the clutch. In 1946 Johnny Pesky held the ball as the eventual winning run in game 7 of the world series. In 1967 Bob Gibson shut the Red Sox down in game 7 of the world series. In 1975 it looked like the Red Sox year. Carlton Fisk comes through in the clutch. But the Red Sox blow a lead in the 7th game and lose the world series. In 1986 the Red Sox have two outs and no one on in the last inning and blow it. Then 2003....... enough said. They are not cursed they just don't come through in the clutch.
