  1. Gom, common. No one is debating how great Mo is, but he does get some very generous calls. This isn't some ridiculous accusation.
  2. Jackson, Gom would look terrible when he couldn't hold a conversation with you without slinging personal insults your way. There is no need to stoop to the same level. You know how much those hinder a conversation.
  3. That was my point the whole time, about the two game swing. I should have showed records like you did.
  4. I think it's unfair to really blame the bullpen for the 0-8 start against the Red Sox. The first game was blown by Mariano Rivera. The second game, although Jonathan Albaledejo blew a one run lead in the seventh, is really more on AJ Burnett than anything else (6-0 lead). The only game where you can really fault the bullpen is the last game, although that is just as much on CC as it is on the bullpen.
  5. I don't disagree with your reasoning why the Red Sox are the better team. If I had to make a prediction, I would say the Red Sox win the division and the Yankees win the wild card. I would be thrilled with that outcome. The reason I say they represent two games is that lets say, for example, the Red Sox were only 7-1 this year against the Yankees. The Yankees would actually be winning the division by a game if that were the case. When you look back on it, those games represent a two game swing. The main reason the Red Sox are ahead of the Yankees is because of those eight games. The Yankees have been significantly better against everyone else than the Red Sox have. If the Yankees are able to play .500 ball against the Red Sox the rest of the season, they really have a good chance to win the division, especially if both team continue to play the same against everyone else. However, like I said before, I think the Red Sox are a better team right now than the Yankees because of starting pitcher.
  6. I don't know. There is no reason to continue to argue this point, but what Foster said is a blatant disregard for the rules. I think if something like this happened to the Red Sox you guys would not be too happy.
  7. I'm more upset about what Marty Foster apparently said to Jeter. Not that it changes anything. Also, I never said the umpires costed the Yankees the game.
  8. http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2009/07/06/crew-chief-calls-were-wrong-today/ Interesting stuff. You don't usually see the umpires be questioned about calls, especially in regular season games. What Marty Foster apparently said to Jeter is absolutely ridiculous.
  9. There's a difference between being happy with the series as a whole, and not being happy with this game today. Each game hurts. They had a ton of chances today, and they couldn't get it done. It happens. The reason why I thought it was important for them to win today is that I'm not sure they're going to do better than 3-3 in the next six games.
  10. Fair enough. By the way, I enjoy the conversation in this thread Dutchy, especially during the games. There usually isn't too much activity in here during the games, especially when the Yankees are doing well (understandably so).
  11. He's got great stuff, but League's numbers are not very good this year, while Frasor's numbers are excellent. EDIT: I guess you just edited that out lol.
  12. So many chances. So many hard hit balls. A couple questionable calls (before you guys go nuts, I'm not whining, just stating fact). Really could have won this game.
  13. Got as good a pitch to hit as he could have asked for.
  14. Too bad they didn't get more off Accardo. He had nothing. The two outs he recorded were smoked.
  15. Ugh, every ball this inning has been hit really hard.
  16. What happened to your extremely positive outlook?
  17. Really bad approach by Teixeira and A-Rod, in my opinion. Swisher's AB should have been the model for Teixeira and A-Rod. All three guys got good pitches to hit on the first pitch. One of them swung, and he hit it hard. You can't get behind against someone like League.
  18. Well, at least for the time being, I think Phil Hughes has now found himself in the 8th inning role.
  19. And you very well might be right. I just think there have been a number of home runs to left that were not struck well enough to get out.
