  1. The part about how he plays the game was directed at BoSox21, not you. Lets take this point by point. The Slap: Mistake by him. There is no arguing this. He got caught. He was just so frustrating, considering what was happening to the Yankees, that he did something stupid. This does not say anything about A-Rod as a human being. The Stripper: Lets not starting making assumptions about A-Rod's personal life. That is absolutely none of our business. We don't know what was going on in his marriage, and I think, as fans, it is stupid for us to be talking about these things. Madonna: Who cares? Seriously. Apparently they were dating. How the heck is this a negative about A-Rod? The World Series opt-out: This very well could have been Boras' idea. We don't know, and because this is nothing more than conjecture, you shouldn't hold it against him. Shouting Incident: Don't quite know what you're referring to. Could you please refresh my memory?
  2. You think the Jays have no chance of winning next year, but you have no idea if Ricciardi feels that way. He might think that with a healthy McGowan and Litsch, the Jays might have the pitching to win next year if they keep Halladay. Personally, I don't think they'll be good enough to win next year, with or without Halladay, but Ricciardi might disagree, and that would defeat your entire theory.
  3. How is the way A-Rod plays the game "disgraceful"?
  4. Care to elaborate?
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if they went .500 or worse in their next three series, or so. A-Rod is going into one of his slumps again, and the Yankees offense really seems to go as A-Rod goes. I've never seen a hitter as good as he is, go as cold as he does at times. He is an incredible offensive producer, but when he goes cold, he doesn't have a chance no matter who he is facing. He was also terrible defensively tonight. He should have had the Pierzynski ball in the seventh, and he really put Cano in a position to fail on the double play opportunity two batters later. It took him way to long to get rid of the ball. If he gets rid of it right away, Cano catches it coming across the bag and doesn't have to deal with the runner. Instead he is forced to catch it in a stationary position, and has to deal with the runner bearing down on him. Doesn't excuse him from making as poor a throw as he did, but A-Rod could have helped to prevent it. It really sucks to be at walk-offs on the road.
  6. All the current MLB parks (minus NYM and WAS). Plus a few old ones. New York Giants Buffalo Bills Washington Redskins New Orleans Saints New York Knicks New Jersey Nets New York Rangers New York Islanders MSU, how was the Japanese baseball experience?
  7. Chamberlain has been good in his last two starts, but who knows if the Chamberlain before the ASB is going to show up. His innings cap, which the Yankees are keeping secret, is also a concern. He clearly is not going to be treated like an ordinary starter, come September. I'm also extremely concerned that Burnett is going to regress, for obvious reasons. And Mitre, although he is a fifth starter, is clearly a concern. With that being said, I agree that the Yankees 3-5 is better than the Sox 3-5. I'm just not sure that is going to be good enough to run away with the division.
  8. Nice to see the Jays take one. Yanks up 6.5 and Sox up 4.
  9. I'm not convinced, at this moment, that they have the starting pitching to do that.
  10. He actually got a hit with RISP. Lets take what we can get.
  11. No A-Rod will hurt too. This was the game in the series that the A's were going to have the best chance to win.
  12. Pitching matchup strongly favors the A's. I wouldn't be shocked.
  13. The last thing Sergio Mitre needs to for his defense to make mistakes behind him. That being said, everything is being hit hard.
  14. Which is what it usually is. For the most part, Gardner only comes in in late and close situations.
  15. There goes the little bit of outfield defense the Yankees had.
  16. Pretty much sums up how I feel as well.
  17. In terms of range, from what I've seen, Jeter has looked much better this year than he has in the past few years.
  18. The Royals go to Soria in the eighth inning of a tie game, but they didn't go to him once in the eighth inning over the weekend against the Rays when they were winning (by one run each time).
  19. White Sox win. Very nice.
  20. Pretty bad play by Upton. Completely fooled by a line drive that was practically right at him. Tricky play though for outfielders, but he needs to make it. Regardless, I'm more than prepared for another Rays comeback. EDIT: Very nice job by Matt Thornton. I'm not sure if the Sox plan to go back to Bobby Jenks again in the ninth... EDIT 2: Still Thornton for the ninth, and like clockwork, Navarro gets on to start the inning.
  21. Tying run in scoring position. Huge chance coming up for Ramirez.
  22. Amazing that the Yankees are getting well pitched games with Posada behind the plate...
