  1. I'm not exactly Joe Girardi's biggest fan.
  2. a700, you're putting words in Al Leiter's mouth. He never said Piazza should have charged the mound. He said he would have been OK if he did do it. He also added that he was OK with the way it turned out.
  3. The schedule really favors the Red Sox after after this week, while the Yankees have to go out to the West Coast. The Red Sox are playing really well, while the Yankees are not. You can't honestly tell me that you don't think the possibility exists that the Red Sox might be reasonably close by the time next Friday roles around. Look, I still think the Yankees will win the division, but it's ridiculous to say that it's a lock.
  4. Hey, but thank god we got rid of that piece of s*** Joe Torre. Girardi might bat the second worst hitter in the lineup second, but Torre is such an idiot that he would probably have Mariano Rivera playing left field and batting second.
  5. HOW THE f*** CAN YOU HAVE THE SECOND WORST HITTER IN THE LINEUP HITTING SECOND. JOE GIRARDI, YOU ARE SO AWFUL.
  6. Hopefully they don't pay here for the ridiculous decision to bat Jerry Hairston Jr. second.
  7. Rangers losing 4-0. Some good news on a potential bad night for Yankee fans.
  8. I said back when the lead was much larger that this was not 2006 again. At some point the Red Sox were going to close the gap. I stuck by that, and here you go. The lead looks like it might be on it's way to 4 games in the loss column by the end of the night. Jacko, Gom, Optimist...still think the division is an absolute lock?
  9. How the series turned out for the Mets is completely irrelevant. You have to go back to that moment. You're fairly certain, but it's a chance that cannot be taken.
  10. Wow, the Angels are really falling apart.
  11. So I'm going to assume that you had a conversation with Bud Selig and he told you that Piazza was not going to be suspended beyond that game. You're very well connected a700.
  12. Can't have Gaudin in the game if he is going to go exclusively with his slider.
  13. World Series!!!! Try to remove your hatred for Clemens from the equation. That would be one of the most selfish things I would have ever seen in a baseball game. I love to debate things just as much as the next guy, but this is one that is not going anywhere. If you guys think he should have intentionally removed himself from a World Series game, and possibly from future games in the series, then I'm really at a loss for words.
  14. You can't be serious? The Mets best player? In the World Series?
  15. Al Leiter just actually said on the Yankees broadcast that it would have been OK if Mike Piazza went out to the mound when Clemens threw the bat in his direction. I've heard some dumb things on baseball broadcasts, but that probably just topped it.
  16. Really bad error on a very routine play by Jeter. Now they have to face Lind.
  17. Pretty unlucky there.
  18. Spectacular play by Aaron Hill. I guess his days of not showing up against the Yankees are over.
  19. Really nice play from Teixeira.
  20. So Tallet exits the game with an injury after two innings.
