  1. A sense of desperation, on Joe's part, might turn into a positive. I'm hoping that, if the situation presents itself, he might be willing to go with Rivera for seven outs.
  2. AJ talked about the fact that he let the entire city down tonight. This reminds me of Trey Junkin. Bad, bad memories.
  3. I do think that the Yankees are teetering on the brink of a big offensive game.
  4. Up and down, but he hasn't done it since 2006. His greatest start ever came on three days rest, but that was a long time ago.
  5. Well, the final two innings of this game were definitely a positive.
  6. If they lose, the goat of the series will be very obvious.
  7. The strike zone has really changed over the course of the game. Terrible.
  8. Ugh, Jeter. They really had a great chance here.
  9. He took the best pitch to hit.
  10. By all means, go to Myers.
  11. Well Madson has looked very good this series.
  12. Now, can they get A-Rod up...
  13. Hughes looks a bit better thus far. He had a very nice sequence against Feliz, and Ruiz only got a cheap hit. EDIT: But you can tell he just is not the same pitcher. So many breaking balls.
  14. The Yanks have to hold it to three here. Hypothetically, if they do, here's the situation the Yankees would be faced with in the 9th. Down three runs, with Posada, Matsui, and Jeter coming up. The question would become, can they get A-Rod up. Three of the five guys would need to reach. All five are good hitters, so it's not entirely unrealistic. I don't like their chances, but we'll see.
  15. That really is a fantastic base running play by A-Rod.
  16. At the very least, they must get this run in. It probably won't be enough, but it might give them a shot against Lidge
  17. How in the world is that a strike tonight? Anyway, I have to give Girardi credit for holding back Matsui, even with all the pinch hitting opportunities.
  18. Really don't get Charlie Manuel.
  19. I would be shocked. That has only happened once, and it was only because the losing team (statistically) dominated the series. Unless the Phillies were to win game six by a ton of runs, and Utley was to hit a couple more homers, I don't see him winning it (unless, of course, the Phillies win the series).
