  1. Cannot believe Teixeira is still hitting third.
  2. Well there's the Joba the Yankees need. He gave up a couple singles, but he was fantastic. He has to find that consistency.
  3. I'm actually happy with that result from Tex. No double play. EDIT: But there's the DP. They have no chance against the Romero changeup today, especially Teixeira.
  4. Right, I don't blame them at all, and it's what I wanted. Unfortunately, at this point, they might not be able to.
  5. They never really showed a good angle on YES, but from what they did show it looked like he lost it on the transfer.
  6. Worst team ever with a runner at third and less than two outs.
  7. They'll probably look for eight from Pettitte.
  8. This Yankees' offense really seems to struggle against good changeup pitchers.
  9. Not really sure why we just had to see the Alex Gonzalez WS home run on a YES broadcast. Could have done without that.
  10. And Joe reminds us why he's a poor in game manager, leaving Burnett in for an extra inning and ending any chance of the Yankees winning this game.
  11. AJ very rarely locates his fastball well, but he typically benefits from good life, good movement, and bad offense (or a combination of some of those things). Tonight is one of the nights where he's paying for the poor location.
  12. Never like to say this in the fifth inning, especially with this offense, but this game is probably over. Cecil has been in complete command from the beginning, and the Yankees just don't have a good approach thus far. With three runs already on the board for Toronto, this one may very well be a lost cause.
  13. They would be smart to get Mitre up.
  14. But you can't put it all on the game plan. Yankees' fans have become accustomed to AJ's inconsistency, and bad AJ showed up tonight.
  15. All comes down to game plan, and the one they have against Bautista isn't a good one. Way too many fastballs.
  16. 1. For someone who never does play-by-play, he's done a decent job so far. 2. Didn't see the pre-game.
  17. Barely putting together any good ABs so far against Cecil. He's in complete command early on.
  18. Amazing that once he got ahead of Bautista 2-2 he didn't go to the hook once. Makes absolutely no sense.
  19. Better than he looked before the last two times he has pitched, but still pretty far away from his capabilities. The number one concern on this team remains the bridge to Rivera. The one positive is that he touched 97 MPH in his last outing.
  20. While you're right about the Denkinger call (in terms of when it happened), your post doesn't counter ORS' argument. Fact is, Jim Joyce's blown call did take place in a very unique situation, and is not analogous to the two examples you provided.
  21. Why does instant replay suck in the NFL, and why would it suck in MLB?
  22. Really nice AB from A-Rod, fighting off some tough pitches, and then hitting a good pitch out of the ballpark.
