  1. I mean, the walk-off tonight inspired me to post that, but he really has been excellent this year.
  2. Nick Swisher is a pretty damn good hitter.
  3. I agree, this was odd. I wouldn't expect most of them to be there, but I thought at least Jeter would be there, the guy who still has Sheppard's voice introduce him before at-bats. I haven't heard why they couldn't be there, but I'm assuming it was just too inconvenient.
  4. A-Rod probably shouldn't have been selected, but other than that, which selections did you have an issue with?
  5. Completely understandable. I suspect we all are.
  6. Yeah, I mentioned Sutter because I figured there was a good chance you meant him. And yeah, Girardi has had braces for awhile now. Kind of strange for someone of his age.
  7. Just be thankful he doesn't manage your favorite team.
  8. Can't agree with that, Gossage threw way more fastballs than anything else, and there was a reason for it. Bruce Sutter is a better comparable, but I'll take Valverde.
  9. Who do you think has a better one?
  10. Buck instead of A-Rod. You can't make this stuff up.
  11. Jose Valverde has the best splitter I've ever seen.
  12. Normally I wouldn't be bothered by the AL losing an ASG, but when it's because of people wearing the Yankees' uniform, it does.
  13. Not too confident in guys like Wells and Hunter hitting Wainwright. It has nothing to do with the talent of each staff, but it speaks volumes about Joe that he had Phil Hughes pitching the 7th inning, while Charlie Manuel had Wainwright.
  14. Joe Girardi is awful.
  15. He always gets beat on the cutter. You would think someone would figure this out. EDIT: And there it is. He shouldn't be on this team, and he certainly shouldn't be in this game. Fortunately he's out now.
  16. Ugh, well there goes my prediction. Hope Hughes doesn't blow this.
  17. Haha, I don't think Hughes is going to get in the game tonight, unless we see extra innings, or if someone runs into trouble. It would be a mistake on Girardi's part if he was to pitch to the seventh (for instance).
  18. My guess would be Valverde, but Girardi wouldn't say.
  19. Right, I said initially, of all the Yankees playing in the ASG, the only one he picked was A-Rod. Additionally, I completely agree, it was a poor choice, and one I only think Girardi made to help the mindset of his player heading into the second half.
  20. Who is talking about the fans? I responded to a post saying that Girardi selected four Yankees, which isn't the case. You mentioned the pitchers, and I responded by saying that all of those (except CC), were selected by the players. Why did you counter my points by bringing up Jeter and fans?
  21. Jeter was selected by the fans. Pettitte was a replacement for a player's choice, and went because he was next on the player's ballot. Hughes was chosen by the players.
