  1. 14 innings without a run, as Francisco Cervelli continues to prove that he is awful. EDIT: And Swisher misplays a ball.
  2. If he demands it, sure. Because of the PR reaction, they can't afford to lose him.
  3. Awful. EDIT: But a lucky hit bails them out.
  4. I'm expecting the worst case scenario. 3/60 or 4/80. Really hope I'm wrong.
  5. Embarrassing from Jeter. Lazy from the start. EDIT: And A-Rod's hurt.
  6. And now they're up to 13 straight scoreless innings, while looking at a probable first place tie.
  7. I'm pretty confident at this point that A-Rod isn't going to get going this year. He had a great night on Saturday, but now he's back to having bad ABs. There have been a few times this year when you thought something might jump start A-Rod, and it just didn't.
  8. It's not a good outing, but I give Javy credit for only giving up these two runs through four innings. He's dealing with this dead arm issue, and he doesn't have much tonight.
  9. I just re-wound it. He picked the ball up with his glove, tagged him with his glove, but then quickly transferred the ball to his barehand. I could see how you could have missed it.
  10. 4-5-6 in the O's order coming up against Rafael Soriano.
  11. Worst offensive game of the year.
  12. You can observe that there are balls called strikes against the Red Sox at times. What you can't observe is the umpire's motive.
  13. The 2-0 pitch to Posada being called a strike changes the entire AB.
  14. Brett is not good at bunting for hits. Yet he tries it in a big spot. Idiot.
  15. You say that as if it's a fact.
  16. They really should go to the bullpen here if they want to have any shot in the ninth. EDIT: Never mind. Excellent double play. Great outing by AJ. Unfortunately they've got the bottom of the order coming up in the ninth against Soria.
  17. I wouldn't mind seeing them call up Montero, especially if Berkman is going to miss time. While this team is good offensively, they're also inconsistent, and they have too many games like the one today. Maybe Montero would provide some sort of spark heading into the pennant stretch. With the problems in the rotation, and the inconsistency of the offense, making the playoffs (and certainly winning the division) is anything but a sure thing.
  18. Between Burnett and Cervelli, there is absolutely no chance Blanco isn't successful at stealing second.
  19. 3-6-1 double play. Pitcher covers first. I'm sure it was unintentional, but he placed his foot right in the middle of the bag. Considering the high risk of injury, you just can't do that. Now we'll have to wait and see if Berkman is OK.
