  1. Time to get him out of their Joe. EDIT: Nice job by Javy. Additionally, Granderson has been great since they changed his swing.
  2. Yup. Six home runs total on the year, with four of them coming in August and September.
  3. With the Yankees have comeback to tie, Vazquez should be on an even shorter leash to avoid him giving it right back.
  4. Nice little comeback from the Yankees so far this inning.
  5. Right, I could definitely envision a scenario where he leaves on his own accord. And I could also see a scenario where he wants to come back, but the Yankees don't want him, although I view that one as way less likely. As for the Clemens thing, that would be great, but I can't see Andy doing it.
  6. Javy probably saved himself from being removed with that inning, even though he still had a four pitch walk, and missed his location badly on the strikeout pitches to Bautista and Wells.
  7. No way to know. It'll probably be the same as last year, with Pettitte making a decision about a month after the season ends.
  8. I think they made the right decision starting Javy today, but more of the same from him. Even though the outs were soft, most of them were on very hittable pitches, that the batters just got under. And then there's obviously the two home runs and the four pitch walk.
  9. Montero raised his OPS to .875 tonight.
  10. He was never lightning quick, but Jeter is now borderline slow.
  11. Unless he said CC only gave up the home run because of the wind, then I don't see what context would guarantee that it was being said in defense of CC, and only CC. Couple that with knowing that what Kay said is a fact, and I don't think he's being a Yankee apologist. EDIT: But maybe Jacko can tell us at some point, more or less, what he said.
  12. I wasn't watching the game either, but I think making that comment after five home runs to left field (no matter which particular HR he said it after) is more of a general comment than anything. Additionally, I was there, and the flags were blowing out to left field, so it was also a truthful comment. However, without watching the broadcast it's hard for me to comment, and if it really was in defense of CC, I completely agree with you. But with the comment being said after five home runs to the same part of the park, and with the flags actually blowing out to left field, I think it was likely more of a general statement (and a fact) than anything else.
  13. By the same token, you could say that he's also making an excuse for Danks. I don't think that's an example of him being a Yankee apologist.
  14. I'm sure it won't happen in the immediate future, but if Boston continues to make up ground, I'm wondering at what will the Yankees decide to start handing CC the ball every fourth day. Considering how much experience CC has pitching on short rest, and how bad the rest of the rotation is, they should be willing to do it at some point.
  15. Exactly. This team has one reliable starter. Here's what worries me. If the Yankees, Rays, and Red Sox were all tied, I'd guess that the Yankees would be the odd team out moving forward. The Yankees' starting pitching is significantly worse than the two other teams. I'm just hoping that the difference between the Yankees' and Red Sox's pitching isn't enough for the Sox to overcome the 4.5 game deficit. I was rooting for the Rays tonight, and will continue to when the two teams play each other.
  16. At this point they really have one reliable starter. If Pettitte comes back, and is effective, they can make another run at a championship if they make the playoffs. But with the way this team is pitching, and with how tough their September schedule is, I'm not taking anything for granted. Just hoping they hold off Boston.
  17. Those Yankees' fans don't really know what they're talking about. Look at Bernie Williams.
  18. Wow, kudos YS. Extremely well said. I wish you were here when I was debating this point the entire offseason lol.
  19. Gotta love this rotation.
  20. A-Rod has now been placed on the 15 day DL.
  21. That ball looked catchable. I hope they're prepared to go to Mo for more than three outs. EDIT: Really like this move, especially with a lefty coming up.
