Quite an unlucky night so far for the Yankees. Just about everything from soft hits to bad calls has gone against them, and we're only in the bottom of the second.

Wilson gets an absolute gift on 3-1 and then gets out of it. Between that, and the brick backstop, he was extremely lucky to not have given up a run. On the flip side, no hard hit balls.

Very unlucky for Javy so far. A pop up and two soft singles, and he's had to throw 20 pitches. EDIT: And three pitches later, he's out of it.

Trenton Thunder pitching through the first two games of their playoff series... 21 IP, 0 R, 29 K Granted, four of those innings were Pettitte's, but still extremely impressive.

They've actually hit some pretty good pitchers as of late, and really over the course of the entire season. You're right, they're inconsistent, but I don't necessarily think there's a correlation based on how good the opposing team's starting pitcher is.

Really nice start from Dellin Betances tonight in Trenton's opening playoff game. 5.1 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 8 K Unfortunately Montero was forced to sit out Scranton's playoff game with some sort of leg infection.

Jeter sucks now, and that's fine. The problem is that they refuse to move him to the bottom of the order.

Has to be Posada here. EDIT: Girardi is horrendous. There just isn't anything more to say at this point. Time and time again he does something dumb. Please go to the Cubs Joe.

Berkman against lefties is essentially an automatic out. The way he's hitting right now, Granderson isn't. Also, Buck is able to counter Thames with a righty. If Thames had pinch hit for Berkman, he wouldn't have been able to. Not at all surprised to see Joe out-managed by Buck.
