  1. What he does in the postseason should have absolutely no influence on the contract he gets, because it's such a small sample size. Cashman said prior to last postseason that he wouldn't be influenced by what goes on in the postseason, and he proved that. The worst possible thing the Yankees can do is place more significance on a handful of ABs in the postseason than what he did over the course of the entire season. Fortunately, if we use last year as the barometer, the Yankees won't do that.
  2. Dammit, put him at the bottom of the order. This is ridiculous. I can deal with him being close to an automatic out, but having him at the top of the order compounds the problem. EDIT: If Girardi isn't going to do anything, Cashman, who has proven time and time again that he isn't influenced by sentimental factors, needs to step in here.
  3. It's Jeter. Time to realize he's not going to come through this year. A squeeze would have been a really good play there.
  4. Hanging breaking ball, Granderson just missed it.
  5. I don't blame Cano. Why not appeal there? The base umpire has a much better view than the home plate umpire. With that being said, Cano looks lost. He's been their best player most of the year, and they're going to need him in the postseason if they're going to be successful.
  6. If they don't score here, considering who they have left in the bullpen, I don't the Yanks' chances.
  7. Absolutely dominant after the stolen base. He got lucky against Cruz, but a nice job by Mo to get through the inning unscathed.
  8. Normally it'd be nice to have the top of the order up, but it's a different story when the top of the order contains Jeter and Golson. Nothing they can do about Golson, that was the right decision. What's too bad is that they want Jeter there.
  9. Please go to the Cubs Joe, please go.
  10. It's great having A-Rod in the lineup, but Pena gobbles that up. And this is not a good decision by Joe. Javy has been throwing the ball well tonight, and he's only at 88 pitches.
  11. Good sequence by Strop.
  12. Good move by Washington, as he saw Harrison losing it, and he turns Tex around to his weaker side (this year), although he probably should have done it one pitch earlier.
  13. OK, big AB for Tex who has been struggling a bit as of late.
  14. He's horrendous. Slowly the most loyal Jeter supporters, and there are many of them, are going to realize how much he's hurting the team.
  15. Really nice bounce back inning for Javy. 1-2-3, three total swings and misses, and a fantastic sequence against Vlad.
  16. An incredibly stupid decision by Yunel Escobar (I wonder why the Braves dealt him...) gives the the Rays the lead.
  17. You're going to pay when you give away two free base runners, but Javy has only given up one hard hit ball in four innings. He has pitched better than his line score would indicate.
  18. Lucky hit from Borbon, but he put himself in this position. A four pitch walk, a terrible 0-2 pitch, and a HBP.
  19. Bautista is unbelievable.
  20. Dang, Trenton gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth inning. So their final pitching line from the series... 30 IP, 1 R, 37 K Not too shabby.
  21. I like Brett, and I don't know what the numbers say, but he doesn't seem to benefit from being ahead in the count.
  22. Some slide by Thames lol.
  23. Not sure I've ever seen this many soft hits this early in a game.
  24. Not a good night so far for the home plate umpire.
