  1. Would have probably been a good spot for Logan there.
  2. And there we go. Somehow the Yanks stay in the game.
  3. Excellent play by Tex. Moseley now has an escape route in this inning.
  4. Joe might want to considering pulling Moseley if he wants to give the Yankees any chance tonight. With Hellickson in a groove, and a rested Benoit and Soriano, it's going to be tough for the Yankees to come back.
  5. If the Rays take the next two games, I think they win the division considering their much easier schedule. If they split, I think it goes right down to the wire.
  6. Or not. Big out to keep them in the game.
  7. Tough spot here for Moseley. EDIT: Very predictable. EDIT 2: About to be 4-0.
  8. So coming out of the bullpen for the Yankees is Royce Ring. The Rays went with Jeremy Hellickson. I wonder which team is better prepared to deal with the rain delay lol.
  9. I agree with Jacko here, that was off the end of the bat, and the only reason AJ had time to put his glove out like that was because it wasn't hit particularly hard.
  10. There were a few reports awhile ago that he had been dealing with a few nagging issues, but I haven't heard anything lately.
  11. Second 0-2 walk for AJ. So frustrating. EDIT: AJ isn't as sharp tonight as he was last Friday.
  12. The Rays' rotation, outside of Price, is in pretty bad shape. I wonder if they'd consider giving Jeremy Hellickson a postseason start.
  13. Do you think they'll celebrate when they clinch a playoff spot?
  14. Gutsy call their with the slider to Hawpe, and he forced Jaso into the big part of the park. Also, nice to see Jeter with a couple hits, and a double. I'm not looking forward to Mitre or Sanchez having to navigate through the heart of the Rays' lineup next inning. EDIT: Just realized how awful this post reads with three separate thoughts and no segues lol.
  15. And here comes Javy to let them back in the game.
  16. Lucky on a bunch of different fronts. Well placed hit, bad decision by Crawford to dive for it, and a bad decision by Pena to cut off the throw.
  17. Well that's about as cheap a HR as you'll see.
  18. I don't think it's fair to get on him for this. Rivera has pitched in three of the last four games, and has pitched in the last two. Robertson has pitched in three of the last four games, and in the last two. Wood has pitched in the last two. Considering those workloads, and the Yankees' place in the standings, I can't blame Joe for this.
  19. Only explanation I can think of as to why he would bring in Vazquez to face the heart of the order with a runner already on base is that Joba is the closer tonight.
  20. 1. Girardi has given his relievers tons of rest recently. 2. Rivera having pitched three times in the last four days, and two days in a row. I bet he's unavailable, but we'll see.
  21. Ah OK. I wasn't watching the game, so it seemed as if you countered my point with Ken Burns' opinion...
  22. Nice job by Hughes, retiring the last seven batters. The last nine outs are going to tough, because I'm assuming Robertson, Wood, and Rivera are all unavailable. So no action in the Yankees' bullpen, which isn't surprising.
  23. Well, as I feared, the Yankees' offense has seem to go away after the first. This game is beginning to remind me of this game: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYA/NYA201005170.shtml
  24. OH NO KEN BURNS!... ...I mean, seriously, why is his opinion more relevant than others?
