  1. Massi still on the board at 101. Even with signability issues, I feel like the Sox would be one of the few teams able to get it done. Would it make sense that if the Sox like Stassi but he's falling due to money, maybe we don't see him until tomorrow rather than using up a 3rd on him?
  2. next pick for the sox is 107. will massi still be there lol?
  3. Yankees pick C John Murphy
  4. 76 (Yankees) on the clock. Stassi is still available.
  5. Scheppers finally goes at #44 to Texas.
  6. http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=mlb_draft From BP:
  7. Where do the Sox pick next?
  8. Slade Heathcott to Yankees.
  9. Sox pick OF Reymond Fuentes, hes been shooting up the draft boards recently. great speed, good bat. yanks on the clock, with scheppers still on the board, cant see scheppers getting past them.
  10. anyone know who is pitching the second game of the double header on thursday at syracuse? I know smoltz is pitching the first game. I'll be going so just wondering if it was going to be buchholz or bowden?
  11. texas must be very happy with their pick. purke is a texas hs lefty

  15. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=ys-uconnphone032509&prov=yhoo&type=lgns If all thats true they are going to be in some serious s***. And that article may just be scratching the surface! I don't think they will have to vacate any of their wins because of Miles since he didn't play any games but who knows what else may come out if the NCAA goes full blown investigation on Uconn. This NCAA tourney run could be it for Calhoun if they face major sanctions especially considering his health and age. Either way it means mass exidos for Uconn this year with investigations looming. Transfers and early entries not to mention who ever they had committed rethinking things. I can't stand the "agent of the university" and booster culture. It's hard to tell if this guy was some overzealous fan who hooked up a recruit or if Calhoun and other UConn officials supported what he was doing. If all of this reporting from Yahoo! pans out the guy is going to do so much harm to the university he was trying to help, all for a recruit that didn't end up playing for UConn. The best thing boosters can do to help the college is to cheer for a recruit when they see them at a game, but then to stay the hell away and let the coaches do their jobs. The funny thing is if the guy dealing with Miles wasn't connected with Uconn it be just like every big Memphis recruit. This should eliminate Moore as a candidate to replace Calhoun. Do Memphis Next, but then again Cal probably has Yahoo! on the payroll.
  16. just wondering why you're on a baseball board if you know nothing about it. there's a difference between being cocky and being confident.
  17. I didn't but whatever you say, I posted it on another 'Cuse board, so f*** you. Let's face it, you hate Syracuse because of Devendorf. We can understand why he's so disliked. If he played for another team, we'd probably hate him too. But like I've said in the past, he's an a-hole, but he's our a-hole. And f***, as long as he's hitting three-pointers with no time left on the clock, he can preen and yell as much as he damn well pleases. Fine, he's a punk. You win. But if we're going to go down this road, I think it's only fair that folks, and especially bloggers, tell the truth about "the incident." Eric Devendorf did not punch a woman in the face. That was conjecture by one of the police officers on the scene and was later refuted by the woman-in-question. Officially, she ended up saying that he "put his hand in her face" when questioned by the SU Judicial Board. Still not a good thing but nowhere near the same. Even now, this is all alleged and if you want to be taken seriously by folks who love to bash blogs for going all willy-nilly, you should keep that phrase is mind. Call him a punk, say you hate his tattoos (which I'd love to extrapolate sometime given the sheer number of basketball players who have tattoos but get no grief for them) and he's cocky and an ******* and he makes poor choices in facial hairstyles and he preens and poses way too much. But as someone who has seen what Eric Devendorf can do when the game is on the line, there's no time left and you need someone with the onions to want the ball cause he knows he can make the shot...I'll still take him. How many teams have a guy like that?
  18. OK. Pretty sure that "garbage" team beat you 5 out of the last 6 games at MSG. Anyways, just got back from New York City and the Big East Tournament and the BET absolutely rips on any other conference tournament out there. Watching the ACC, SEC and BIG 10 championship games seems like a whole lower level of basketball other than Duke completely schooling Florida St, but what does that say. Here's what someone saw if they had an all day ticket at the Garden on Thursday: - 3 top 5 teams - 6 top 25 teams - Crazy comeback by Marquette and then eventual buzzer beater by 'Nova - West Virginia beating #2 ranked Pittsburgh - Oh, and the game of the year. #20 Syracuse beating #4 UConn in 6 OT's
  19. and while people keep talking about the offense the defense is going to suffer. Mainly b/c Arod has the most range out of any 3B in the Majors which allows Jeter to cheat to 2nd. Now Jeter range is really going to be tested
  20. He's so full of crap though. All the tough questions he danced around. He should have come out and said: Yes I took X and Y for 3 years. My "cousin" came and injected me a series of times from 2001-2003. What I did from 2001-2003 not only cheated myself but the game of baseball. I did it because I wanted to become an even better ball player than I was. I realize now that I did not need steroids to further my career. I am sorry for disgracing the game with blatant cheating. Instead he relied on the old " I was young and stupid" excuse. I don't buy it. There's no way he doesn't know what he was injected with. A guy that as Michael Kay said on his radio show "doesn't eat cookies/chips/candy" doesn't know what's being injected into his body that could cause him serious harm? Are we serious? TIs this the full story? First he didn't do them, next he didn't know what he took, now his cousin injected him with some drug from the DR? Its just so fishy. I'm really sick of the A-Rod story, but this is going to follow the team around all year. A-Rod's naive if he thinks this is all behind him. It never will be behind him, ever.
  21. Yeah, garbage .. sure. We all know the Connvicts get away with murder. His first foul was with 2 minutes left in the SECOND HALF. They way he is allowed to run his mouth when everyone else gets T'd up is a joke. Anyways, Blair freaking abused Thabeet. That one play where he flipped him over his head was hilarious. Thabeet gets away with over the backs at least 3-5 times per game. it seems like every time someone has inside position on him and goes for an offensive rebound he pushes them out of bounds or almost out of bounds on the end line and they never call it. He did against Syracuse and Pitt. That guy would foul out of every game if they called some of those things or at least be a lot less effective.
