    one of the worst mistakes the yankees made IMO was not giving this kid a real chance to settle in. they expected him to perform well right away. the kid got some great stuff, and his strikeout to walk ratio is good. I believe Wells will definately be traded this off season. reports are roberts/otsuka for wells. Otsuka is a very good reliever...but could wells go to arizona?

    Javier was our target before we signed Curt Schilling so it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to me to see him end up in a Sox uniform. Schilling Wells Wakefield Clement Arroyo Papelbon and Vazquez? Not that I would mind having an abundance of starting pitching... lord knows we could have used it this past year.

    not sure if this was posted already but: According to the ny post: http://www.nypost.com/sports/31152.htm it is very unlikly the Mariners will trade Ichiro. they bring in a lot of money from japan because of Ichiro. theres no way in hell they would trade Ichiro for Manny. the money they bring in will keep him there. they will explore trade possibilities, but it will have to be an outstanding offer for Ichiro to be traded. they certainly wont take someone's huge contract on and let go the revenue they bring in from overseas. we'd be trading a clean up hitter for a lead off hitter, and im sure we could get another lead off hitter without sacrificing that much power. I still don't see Manny leaving the sox. I am going to stand by that statement until i read in the paper he is gone

    I know helton makes a lot of $$$ (12.5 mil), but I think he'd be awesome at Fenway. He hits the ball well to left/left-center. He's a gold glove caliber 1st baseman, last year he made his first ever trip to DL, last year was first year since 99 he didn't make allstar team. People will argue he has inflated numbers because he plays 1/2 games in Colorado, but I think he could match numbers hitting at Fenway. Plus, (and mainly), Colorado might be more willing to move him now than ever because of his off-year, salary, and the fact that they're terrible and will always look for (pitching) prospects. Any thoughts?

    Would be cool to get Dave Roberts back... but I assume he would be 4th outfielder (and didn't he leave originally because he wanted to play every day). I can't see Roberts as an acceptable replacement for Damon at all, any more than I see Burroughs replacing Mueller effectively..

    I'm watching Andy Reid's press conference right now on NFL Network. He said TO has been suspended for four games, but will NOT be re-joining the team even after the four game suspension is up, and that the league has been notified. He's done in Philly.

    Per rotoworld David Murphy went 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored today for the Saguaros of the AFL. Murphy is batting .319/.364/.528 in 72 at-bats. He started off 3-for-21, so he's played very well the last three weeks.
