Waddell picked the status quo. We don't need old, slowfooted players who have experience Weight, Tkachuk, Hatcher, Chelios, Modano, and others need to go We need speed, youth, energy, and chemistry. Not to mention Ryan Miller should be the US Goalie.

USA vs Finland Sweden vs Swiss Czech Republic vs Slovakia Canaduh vs. Russia That's right, Canaduh will be upset. The Finland/ USA game will probably be low scoring, unless our goalie pinches a loaf out on the ice. I think if they play them tight and rough, and get good goaltending we will win this game. I'm waiting for that first game everything finally comes together. They always talk about how Finland plays a NA style game better than any other European team. They can handle a physical game. The US needs to be on its toes. I think we will have to play an "old" NHL style game to win but it can be accomplished. But, the odds favor Finland right now. The loss of Hasek hurts the Czech's and Slovakia has looked very good so far. Same with Sweden. Swiss has the most heart and determination of all the teams, but I don't think that will be enough to take them through to the semi's.

the uconn game was amazing. nd went ona 25-2 run in the second half to come back from a 19 point deficit. no easy games in college basketball.

Kazakhstan defeated Latvia 5-2 this morning, which officially gives USA a spot in the quarters...goal differential is now irrelevant so we could lose to Russia 21-0 and it won't matter. USA plays Finland in the medal round tomorrow.

you were heavvvy favorites to win the gold, and it doesn't look good right now for you guys, eh? maybe the next time people won't just say "Give canadauh the gold" because they are overrated. its got nothing to do with who is not on the teams, team Canaduh has a great team on paper and should be playing better. staal or spezza would not change anything, right now its fundamentals they lack. It seems like this happens every four years, but Canadians never accept it as reality. There are other good hockey countries other than Canaduh. Finland beating Canaduh isn't like Pittsburgh upsetting Ottawa like most Canadians would like to see it as. It's more like Philly upsetting Ottawa. Canaduh does not have anything to prove, no extra motivation as in the past... in 2002, they had the 50 year curse, in 2004 they had revenge for 1996. Of course the Olympics is a motivation, but everyone has that same motivation Canaduh is just lacking that something extra that carried them the last couple seasons.

they won at cincy when they were ranked. No (eligible) team from a power conference with a .500 league record and a low RPI has ever been left out of the tournament. I think the RPI lock number is 34 and under. SU is currently at 30. With 1 or 2 more wins and almost every game against good opponents, it probably won't go any lower than that. And their SOS is 9 in the nation. 8-8 gets them in, regardless of the BET. Remaining Schedule: @ #17 Georgetown @ Depaul vs. #2 'Nova (G Mac's Final Game, expecting 33,000+) They will at least get 20 wins, They have a great chance to beat G'Town too in D.C. If the season ended today they would be playing Cincinatti in the first round of the BET. So, I'm saying 23-9 going into Selection Sunday. Also factor in that the Big East is clearly the best conference in the nation this year, so getting at least 7 in the tourney should be a lock. Getting 8 is not out of the question. 9 is asking a lot, but it could happen.

yep, I was there. The dome was crazy. Diaper Dandy, Eric Devendorf, led the team with 17. He is gonna be nasty. I was one of the dumb drunk people storming the court. Who cares, it was a huge emotional win for us. Potentially sending us dancing in march.

I can't get over the Canada loss, How many upsets does that make for the tournament so far? 4? USA Ties Lativa USA Women's loses to Sweden Canada loses to Swiss Czech Loses to Swiss This is great for the overall game of hockey. It gives international teams some hope for success

You couldn't tell exactly where the puck was inside of the glove, so that definetely contributed to the decision.
