  3. isnt that all? 2005 would look just as good as the 2004..... right on the middle finger
  4. schilling is a starter not a closer. when he gets back in the rotation he will be fine, contrary to what you "yankee fans" think.
  5. i think he put the wrong name in there, just a typo
  6. something new for tonights game, GAME NOTES! http://presspass.mlb.com/docs/77/107/1500_1228_1.gif
  7. yes it is and if you have a problem you can take it up with me After an extremely tough loss, and with the Yankees sending Johnson against the Devil Rays, this is a huge game tonight. I think that Papelbon will rise to the occasion. Ideally the offense will respond as well, allowing Curt to take the night off because they have a Jeremi Gonzalez-safe lead in the ninth. (I would say a Mike Remlinger-safe lead, but there's no such thing as a Mike Remlinger-safe lead). As Dewey Evans said to Johnny Damon before Game 1 of the World Series: "Win it. Win it. Win it."
  8. just came across this on jimrome.com, thought it was good - Skip Bayless
  9. hope its not true, would be bad for all of baseball

  11. Red Sox try to rebound against Tigers Boston (68-48) at Detroit (56-61), 7:05 p.m. ET By*Ian Browne*/*MLB.com Smarting from Monday night's late-game meltdown, the Red Sox look to get back on their feet when highly touted prospect Jon Papelbon makes Tuesday's start in place of injured right-hander Wade Miller. The Red Sox held a 6-4 lead with one out in the ninth inning on Monday, only to see the Tigers come all the way back for a 7-6 victory against Curt Schilling. The Red Sox have won 14 of their last 17 games and hold a 3 1/2-game lead over the Yankees in the American League East. Pitching matchup BOS: RHP Jon Papelbon • 0-0, 3.38 ERA in 2005 • First appearance vs. DET in 2005 DET: LHP Nate Robertson • 5-10, 4.10 ERA in 2005 • 0-0, 2.70 ERA vs. BOS in 2005 Player to watch Designated hitter David Ortiz (101 RBIs) looks primed to go on one of those streaks during which he carries the Red Sox. Quotable "I don't feel tired. I don't feel like I've pitched too much or too little or anything. This is a result-oriented business. [Monday] was a horrible night." -- Schilling, after Monday's defeat Quick hits Third baseman Bill Mueller is quietly in the midst of a 10-game hitting streak. ... Alex Cora is hitting .313 with two homers and six RBIs in his last 12 games. ... The Red Sox are 30-30 on the road, compared to 38-18 at Fenway Park.
  12. Game Info Date: Tuesday, August 16th, 2005 First Pitch: 7:05pm ET TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/det.gif Nate Robertson (5-10, 4.10) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif Jon Papelbon (0-0, 3.38) The Red Sox are expected to call up Papelbon for a spot start after placing Wade Miller on the disabled list. Papelbon allowed four hits in 5 1/3 innings in his only previous big league start on July 31 against the Twins, but allowed three runs -- two earned -- mostly due to the five walks he allowed. Robertson turned in his first quality start in nearly three weeks Wednesday at Toronto, which was good for, well, a no decision. That snapped a string of losses in three straight starts, but the lefty is still in search of his first win since July 20, when he found a way to beat the division-leading White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field. His control has been good since that last win -- four walks issued over 24 1/3 innings -- but he's allowed at least eight hits in each start.
