  1. Let's go Jays, we could gain on the yankees without even playing.
  2. lol...I was thinking that too
  3. hhaahaha....that would be sweeet
  4. ok GUYBO, ortiz bunted for a hit, tek did it yesterday, rent has done it numerous times. He has gotten FAR fewer errors with the more time he spends in this league. He may very well only get one or maybe NO more errors this season. Before the first half was completed, I believe he had as many as 19 errors. So he has really gotten much more comfortable. Not to mention he is batting over .310 since the ASB.
  5. He also MAKES a lot of good plays. He has had a lot of errors but I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that this player is going to be solid once he gets used to a more difficult league, with different grounds, etc. The NL is a lot different from the AL and I am so ashamed of "fans" that fail to find the good things this ballplayer does.
  6. stop bashing on edgar god damnit. Rent has been clutch the past couple of games. First with that 2 out, 2 run hit yesterday, and today with the HR note that this guy does a lot to help our club. And for all of you who talk about his errors--last year, Tejada led the league in errors and I believe everyone here will agree that he is a great SS. Everyone focuses on his errors--last season, Tejada had something like 20 at SS. Edgar does a lot for this club--and a lot of things that go under the radar. It takes a good fan to notice the things he does. He bunts well, preforms the hit and run, steals bases and does to absolute intangibles to make our club better. Not to mention he brings a sense of small ball and NL to the sox. hes batting over .333 for the month of august.
  7. ahhh that sucks. Hopefully someone can beat Federer in the US Open before him and roddick face off. I'll be driving down to go to a day of the US Open to meet up with a friend of men, then school.
  8. Jacque Jones, Craig Biggio, and Preston Wilson are some decent CF replacements if Damon doesn't resign. I would want Jacque Jones if we don't resign Damon. Isn't Juan Pierre supposed to be a FA?
  9. Mark Kotsay isn't a free agent this year, he signed a three year extension earlier this season.
  10. I just hope that the Sox don't approach these last 9 games to relaxed (KC,DET,Tampa). These are wins the Sox definitely need to pick up as a cushion going down the stretch. I'll keep my fingers crossed but I don't want anything to be taken for granted based on the perception that Kansas City, Tampa and Detroit are weak teams that are easily beaten.
  11. Updated Standings: BOS - NYY 4 yanks have toronto at home for 4, then KC at home for 3 sox @ KC for 3, then at home vs the tigers for 3...im praying we sweep the tigers there.
  12. thats what joe morgan said.
  13. he pitches 82 mph which is over 100 as a major league equivelent according to sunday night baseball, because they pitch from a shorter distance. He struck out every out that he recorded. Very very impressive. he does look kind of old though
  14. I remember some people saying he would win 30 games this year......lol
  15. Portland's game went 15 innings today and Hansen didn't make an appearance. I wonder if it's a prelude to a Sox callup?
  16. I'm pretty confident we will land Burnett, the Sox think they caan get him as long as they are in the vicinity of the top teams that will bid on him. I like our chances and I know Burnett is a huge fan of Mr. Henry from the Florida days.
  17. Well, I was torn between giving this to the offensive hero, or the pitching hero, so I say to myself: Which is bigger for the club? Our pitching to become dominant, or Edgars bat? The answer, is the pitching (although the Ortiz bunt single STILL has me in tears) . While Jonathan is still a bit wild, which kills his pitch count, he seems to be getting better at this big league thing. How can Tito not let him keep pitching? Hes been our ace. (and thats not a bad thing) Honorable Mentions: Edgar Renteria, (game winning homer) Manny Ramirez (nice insurance blast)
  18. He's been pretty awful considering what they thought they were getting!
  19. Congratulations to RJ on his complete game loss ... you don't see many back-to-back-to-back home runs anymore. Good job
  20. unit has given up 29 HR's this year, his career high for home runs in a single season is 30!!!!!! after the game he said "i thought i had good stuff today" ......lol
  21. I'd resign Millar....for $1, even then we got the raw end of the deal
  22. figgins pops out, sox win 5-1 split series....3-4 on the trip BOS - MFY 4
