  2. of course you will your a yankmees fan....bias....just like I would take manny or ortiz.
  3. haha, you spankee fans are so funny, you win 1 game and get all psyched. Our hitting is superior to yours and We have an easy schedule and we have our longest home stand of the season starting after our series at KC! Good luck with the 'Big Bust" and his 4.646346394 ERA. I'll give wright 2 more weeks before he gets injured again. leiter is going for you today....automatic loss. and if I recall you have another series vs KC (0-3) and TAMPA BAY like 7 more times!!!!!!! LOL
  4. yeah thats what i meant.
  5. not buying it, his defense wasn't good at all at the beginning of the year. Vlad's been on a tear lately. If yankee's dont make the playoffs I don't think a-fraud will get it.
  6. does anyone think that ortiz and manny split votes? I heard someone mention that last year.
  7. Theft charges leave UConn up in air By: Dick Vitale Following North Carolina's national championship victory in St. Louis, ESPN analysts were asked to project a favorite to win it all in 2006. At that point, my call was immediate -- the Huskies of Connecticut. Look at the potential lineup for coach Jim Calhoun back then: Charlie Villanueva, Rudy Gay, Rashad Anderson, Marcus Williams, Josh Boone. The Huskies also had incoming diaper dandy Andrew Bynum, as well as Ed Nelson, A.J. Price and Hilton Armstrong. It looked to be a very deep unit. A lot has happened since then, though. Villanueva and Bynum entered the NBA draft and both went in the top 10. Villanueva was a shocking pick for Toronto at No. 7, while Bynum's potential headed west to the Lakers at No. 10. There went two key interior components. Still, Connecticut was one of the top five teams in America. Then came news that had to shock Calhoun. The Hall of Famer has always reminded his players about being solid student-athletes and taking responsibility for their actions. Allegations against Williams, the starting point guard, and Price led to their arrests on charges of stealing laptop computers. They are innocent until proven guilty, but it certainly doesn't look good based on the evidence. The two players are suspended from the team indefinitely until the matter is settled. If these allegations prove true, you have to wonder why kids wearing a uniform they should be so proud of would head in that direction. Playing for a legendary coach, where the fans are so passionate ... if it's true, it would be hard to figure out. I can't comprehend any student-athlete who would take the risk of throwing it all away. Hopefully, Williams and Price will learn from this situation and can move on with their lives in a positive way, whatever the outcome of the case. Connecticut has such a positive, special environment, and Calhoun is one of the great leaders in college basketball. How quickly that lineup disappeared! With the possibility of Price and Williams being out for the season, Connecticut will have a real challenge putting the pieces back together. Calhoun is capable of getting it done, and this Huskies team still has lots of talent with Boone and Gay up front and Anderson in the backcourt. It looks like UConn will have a bigger challenge than this Hall of Fame coach expected. Stay tuned.
  8. Ortiz is without a doubt one of the best if not the best hitter in the game. He's definetely the best lefty hhitter in the game. Think about it, with Bonds hurt, it's not even close...With Bonds out of the picture, the closest left-hander to Papi is Junior Griffey, Hideki Matsui, or Adam Dunn, and those guys can't even tie Ortiz' shoe-laces. Not to mention, he's the premier clutch hitter in the league right now. Isn't it kind of amazing how far he has come in his tenure with the sox?
  9. another part of the gammons article, surprised at how much hype francouer is getting, considering his is very undiscipline.
  10. Yankees: Gordon combating urinary tract infection by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com Tuesday, August 23, 2005 News Yankees reliever Tom Gordon was unavailable for Monday's game, sitting out while combating a urinary tract infection, according to MLB.com. Manager Joe Torre said Gordon woke up in the middle of the night in pain and began taking antibiotics Monday afternoon, making him sluggish for the rest of the day. Views Call us naive, but we thought urinary tract infections were common in women and not men. It sounds like Gordon is taking care of his junk and should return to the hill later in the week. ......lol
  11. haha, on cold pizza, skip bayless just said that they should have drug testing for performance enhancing drugs.
  12. did anyone hear about that team that hit 6 homeruns in 1 game! Move that fence back!!!!!!
  13. Who gets It, Guardians are hot right now and the A's are coolinig off. The Guardians are the most dangerous team IMO right now, and they could make a serious run at the WC. If Parralta, Martinez, Hafner, Sizemore continue hitting and if Cliff Lee, Sabathia, and Millwood continue to pitch well I think they will win it. Oakland has the pitching obviously but I'm not sold on their offense just yet.

  20. Inside Dish: Boston's Epstein in line for a big raise By Ken Rosenthal - SportingNews No one expects general manager Theo Epstein to leave the Red Sox when his contract expires at the end of the season, but some interesting dynamics are in play. Epstein, who is completing a three-year contract with an annual salary believed to be in the $300,000 to $400,000 range, likely wants a deal close to the one Boston offered Billy Beane in November 2002 -- a reported $13 million over five years. The Red Sox would be more comfortable paying Epstein about $1 million per season, but Epstein possesses the ultimate leverage -- he could threaten to bolt for New York if GM Brian Cashman leaves the Yankees. ... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=insidedishbostonsepstein&prov=tsn&type=lgns
  21. I'll wait until I see hansen but from the numbers he has put up in AA he looks very promising and a force to be reckoned with for years to come. Should be a very dominant reliever in few years.
