  1. ^ burn of the year! john
  2. where would you put in roberts for defensive purposes? mueller is fine at 3rd, we have gg's at ss, 2nd and 1st, he obviously doesn't catch and he has a weak arm. the only purpose for roberts to come in during late games is for his base running abilities. john
  3. sizzlin- you have such a "be perfect or die" attitude. even dodger fans don't expect gagne to convert a save every chance he gets. they are human, i bet you can't even throw the ball over 50 mph, let alone be able to throw diff pitches and hit strike zones. even though i'm not very confident in foulke i can understand (stated by elsbruno) that he did give up hr's to palmero and lopez, both great hitters. john
  4. why does race always have to be brought into it? he's korean, that makes him a rice ball head? typical ignorant statement. sizzlin, red sox 24- they activated him because he IS good and MAY help the sox in the postseason. i highly doubt it but the chance is there. it's obvious that they would rather someone like kim as the 40th man (or whenever they picked him) over someone who has never seen 1 game in the majors. john
  5. hate on kim now, but make sure you eat your words when he's back and dominating. he's only 25. john
  6. honestly, i've never been confortable with foulke. he's not a dominating closer. he's a good closer but not a dominating closer. the only reason he was really brought in was so that we could place willy as setup man and have a very very deep bullpen. sigh, willy, get better faster! john
  7. i guess getting banned once isn't enough for some people. john
  8. my god, you are dumb. yankee's don't suck, yankee fans on the other hand.. some of them are just, well sub par when it comes to iq tests. john
  9. i don't know i'm raning about this, probably because i just read the kruk article on the texas brawl and a few paragraphs down it mentioned a-rod and the trade. what's with all the A-rod haters? i really hate the "gay-rod" shirts. so what if he's a yankee, he's still one of the best, if not THE BEST players in the league. he can probably play any position with the exception of pitching and catcher and be above average at it. he's an athelete's athelete. does everyone not remember that he WANTED to come to boston? he worked his contract so that he could but it was the MLBPA that didn't allow for it. why should be be burned at the stake for wanting to be a bosox? there are way too many bandwagon lame ass sox fans. john
  10. i might get crucified for this but i'm going to say it anyways. i'm a diehard sox fan, been a fan since my first sox game when i was 7 or 8 and became a diehard fan in college when i started to understand baseball better. there was a party at my house on friday (i live on comm ave, 10 min walk from fenway park) and there were about 200 + people here. when we found out that the sox won some people started the yankees suck chant. myself and other yankee fans were probably the only ones not chanting. i never understood it. i just think it's so stupid. the yankees CLEARLY do not suck, i mean they are ahead of us in the division and holds the SECOND best record in the majors. if they suck what are we? doesn't that make us, "wicked" sucks? many people say that to be a true sox fan you have to hate the yankees. without the yankees it would be such a dull season, we would cruise to win the al east everytime, there will be no more wild card chase, no more division chase, no more rivalry. does the fact that i don't chant yankees suck make me a not a diehard sox fan? i just feel that it's so immature, it's just plain stupid. i'll just leave it at that, begin discussion. john
  11. thats not gloating? you simply amaze me. check your URL it says http://www.TALKSOX.com this is a red sox forum. none of us here are running to your yankee forum gloating about the sox. you are a YANKEE fan gloating at a sox forum. yankees here we come, we are too good, we can't lose and this is a great win is NOT gloating. calling out V-tek on strikes by adding K's to his name is gloating, the first couple post of this thread was by you and you ONLY. you were gloating, you know it. don't try to use sox fans being happy about their win as something to allow you to act like a fool. john
  12. exactly, i knew you couldn't answer my point. typical of you to make a comparison to jeter. when giambi has cancer and viruses he's not as good as bellhorn. notice how obvious it is and totally uneccessary to point out, other than to start a flamewar. ^ that is why i call you an idiot. john
  13. you mean i haven't posted here long enough. i've been a reader since this forum was created. the number of post you have doesn't give you anymore credentials than me. it's what comes out of your mouth. john
  14. we didn't need a better shortstop, are you kidding me? i'm not a big nomar fan but i admit he was and still is one of the best shortstops in the game when healthy. his defence is good and his offensive capabilities is very good. the sox got rid of nomar for reasons other than the fact that they (according to you) needed a "better" shortstop. nomar wasn't going to be resigned at the end of the season anyways. theo took advantage of nomars value and got dave roberts, orlando cabrera and dougie m. that's doing the smart thing. we upgraded our bench with dave roberts, upgraded ss defence while downgrading ss offence and upgraded 1st base defence with the trade. john
  15. i didn't know tufts accepted idiots. yes pedro got rocked for 8 runs today. the fact that he got rocked was specified in the FIRST post. there was NO reason to state the amount of runs the sox SPs had compared to the yankees SPs. then to go ahead and state the amount of runs given up by pedro? you are CLEARLY gloating and trying to cause a flamewar. simply put, you are nothing but a troll and no better than the random yankee fans that come here and cause trouble. john
  16. god forbit that the yankees don't have gold glovers at every position. i'de like to see you go out there and do what kenny loften has done and still can do. he missed ONE ball and you guys make him sound like the worst fielder to ever live. john
  17. typical yankee fan input. john
  18. this thread is about pedro martinez being back next season and wether or not we should sign matt clement over pedro. not about how many runs our SP's have allowed this series so far. if you don't have anything valuable to add don't add anything at all. you're just being the pest that you are. john
  19. empire, you are probably the most immature person i know. you're winning the game, congratulations. there is no need to gloat, it makes you and unfortunately other non lame yankee fans look like idiots. you'll win some we'll win some, gloating is for tools. john
  20. i just read your post on baseball.com zen. figured you would post here too :-), i was right. i hate it when the sox lose, i hate it even more when they lose when pedro is pitching. what's worse is that they can NEVER seem to score any runs when he's pitching. pedro is just not dominant this year, it's SOOOOOOO weird to see his era above 3, it's weird to see him give up the long ball and it's weird to see him get rocked like this. once or twice maybe, but it definately is getting out of hand. as for answering your question. i think we still have to bring him back, make him cut his hair, maybe that'll do it.. i'm not saying we shouldn't sign clement, i'm saying we should also bring pedro back. would payroll work out signing both these guys if we let lowe go, williamson will probably be gone too. john
