  1. Ok lets take a look at what Renteria has done in his career. 4 All Star Games 2 Gold Gloves 3 Silver Sluggers Can people get off Renteria's ass, it's tought to come to a place like Boston and just immediatly pick up like you have been going. Sometimes you have to give him a year to get used to playing there. It's like A-Rod last year with the Yankees. I'm not going to say he had a bad year but he struggled compared to what he ususally does. Give Rent some time.
  2. That was the single greatest game I have EVER been to. Got some BP balls, front row monster seats, that was sick.
  3. I like Orsillo also because he gets really into the game. Example, the game where Clement go hit in the head. When the Red Sox won that game you could hear the excitement in his voice.
  4. I agree he should never be anywhere but first base, there isn't really anything he can do about him being slow. He does his job at the plate, at least as far as Theo's moneyball OBP stuff. Oh yeah, I contend.
  5. Exactly what game was this?
  6. :lol:LOL Gay Kung fu. Kung Pow Enter the Ass, staring Alex Rodriguez.
  7. Anyone who continues the "reteria sucks" stuff really needs to be shot.
  8. I contend he gets on base, not exactly what we expected from him, naturally we owuld want better power numbers, but so long as he actually gets on I'm satisfied.
  9. McDonough only did Friday night games. Besides him and Orsillo are pretty much the same. They even SOUND exactly alike.
  10. Carlos Beltran.
  11. He only appears to be strightened out because outside of his first few outing Torre only uses him for one batter, trust me you don't want him out there any longer than that.
  12. No it's not, the guy has frosty hair, he deserves to be the bitch.
  13. Oh no guybo not another Renteria basher.
  14. HITTING well, not really, he has been getitng on base though.
  15. Man Orsillo has it GOOD, he's 35 years-old, he'll be calling Sox games for the next 35-40 years in the summer then go home for the rest of the year.
  16. Roberts is third to me behind Ortiz and Schilling. That stolen base was the X-factor.
  17. Tony G is here to stay, he was a great pick up by Theo.
  18. Schilling (assuming), Clement, and Wells all have dominant stuff I am 100% confident when those 3 take the hill, Wakefield is pretty much a toss up, and Arroyo can be picked up by our ofense. This team is finally hitting it's groove and I feel comfertable playing anyone.
  19. The Red Sox won the World Series last year because they were the best team in baseball, it has nothing to do with "morale". Team's can have worse "chemistry", than men with thier mother-in-laws, if they are the best team in baseball, they will win. For example the the A's of the 1970's. Those guys got along worse than teenage girls, they beat the s*** out of each other every day in thier clubhouse. Players actually got injuries, by getting in fights with each other. They didn't take it with them out on the field and won the World Series in '72, '73, and '74. As terribly as those guys got along, they still won. Those players didn't "Play for each other". Reggie Jackson left as soon as he could, they had the best team and they won. Chemistry is over rated. Especially here in Boston.
  20. It doesn't. When it all comes down to it, when a player digs in the box, "team morale" is the last thing on his mind. The team would be better off with Jay Payton patroling Right, and digging in four times a game than Gabe Kapler.
  21. John Kruk said Randy Johnson was going to win 30 games this season... let's just say baseball "experts" aren't always as smart as they think they are.
  22. Yeah he did bitch about his playing time... while hitting .300. Gabe Kapler, outside of a 40 game season in 2002 in Colorado, has never hit .300 in his career. Paytons a better hitter, which is exactly what we need to take Trot's place. Put it this way, if we still had Payton right now Millar would not be playing Right Field against the Texas Rangers tonight. Kapler is so bad with the bat Tito would rather have Millar in Right Field than have Kapler out there. That in itself proves Kaplers little worth. Sox fans tend to give Kapler far more credit than he deseres, because he was a big part of the 2004 team, but as far as comparing him to Jay Payton, there is no comparison Payton is jsut a better player.
  23. If you think that you're an idiot. Kapler hit like .190 in JAPAN, Payton was actually doing very well with us and is tearing it up in Oakland.
  24. This first inning has summed up my hate and love of the Red Sox. Love: Sox offense Hate: Wade Miller
