I think Nomar's hatred toward's Boston's ownership was his own fault, really. If he'd accepted the very fair deal of 4 years, $60 million we wouldn't be talking about his future with the Cubs....
Nomar got greedy. He said things like "I love Boston, and I want to retire here" to the fans, but he should have said "I love Boston, and I'd love it if they overpaid me to stay here. Otherwise, I'm gunna hit the market and let someone else overpay for me."
In multiple reports, it states that he wasn't the most friendly with his teammates, he never spoke with media, and he was too sensative.
I hate to say "addition by subtraction," because Nomar is a great player, and a professional on the field...but he can't possibly have been well-liked in the clubhouse.
I keep saying this in different threads....but I'll say it again. Superstars don't win championships. TEAMS win championships.
