  1. 2 outs for Hermida. Good stuff. EDIT: Or not.
  2. Lil' high and tight to Beltre, eh, Garza?
  3. Will Lackey make it through 5?
  4. Got more or less out of it. Runs plz.
  5. I'm calling outside cutter to Crawford.
  6. Lackey is going to see how many ways there there are to wiggle out of a leadoff double. EDIT: Or not.
  7. Yeah, just when we need another 20 pitch inning...
  8. I'd say low-to-mid thirties.
  9. It's true, he's our daddy. But right now the Sox are madmen. Wait until they cool off to start fantasy pitchers against them.
  10. Garza's good for 2 more innings -- 1 if we can make him sweat next inning. That's lovely.
  11. Um... might wanna pitch around that guy next time.
  12. Yah, Gamecast showed strike 1 waaaaaaay outside. Exact same distance off the plate as balls 1-3.
  13. I hope Wakefield is warming up for a long relief stint. What's that you say? He's in the rotation now? OK, then I hope Masterson is warming up for a long relief stint. Crud, wrong year.
  14. He seems to think that he has to match Garza's pitch count.
  15. Can anyone who, unlike me, actually watches the gamezzzzzz ™ tell me why Lackey has been so bad this season? No control? Velocity off? Feeling the effects of the pre-game bean burrito?
  16. Who's this "Cameron" guy batting for the Red Sox...?
  17. I have to give Jacko credit. IIRC, he predicted that if the Sox won the 2nd game vs. the Yanks, we would go on a tear. And we have done that. Elsewhere, I voiced a hope (not a prediction) that we would get 3 good turns out of the rotation and go on a 12-3 or 13-2 run. We're in the process of doing that, with noticeable effects on the standings. I'm actually worried about our next 14 games against the scrubs of the league (OK, the A's aren't exactly scrubs at .500, but they're no Rays). Here's what I'm afraid of -- we finish a veeery tough stretch against the creme de la creme with a 7-3 or 8-2 record (probably 7-3 since the pitching matchup tonight is unfavorable). We're pleased, the players are pleased, everyone is smiling and prancing around like unicorns. I'm just afraid of a let-down in the next few series, especially the next one. We have Dice-K and Wakefield going in the first two games, and we all know that they're both capable of laying a stinker. Then we face Greinke in Game 3... admittedly, Lester should make corned beef hash out of the Royals' lineup, but Greinke's OK, too. What I don't want to see is an unexpectedly tough series against the Royals, a loss of momentum, etc. So... let's hope for more good pitching, more Papi renaissance, and overtaking the Jays and Yanks within the next 10 games.
  18. Oh right. Forgot about that. He probably doesn't have much life on his fastball right now.
  19. So... Tazawa gets the start?
  20. Dude, that is a total reverse lock.
