  1. "We had some issues in the Anaheim game. I got injected in third inning in Anaheim. And it flared up again later in that game. As far as tweaking it on the play, that last play where I threw the ball away against Anaheim, it popped a couple of different times because I took a couple of different wrong steps, but that wasn't the trigger." -Curt Schilling on WEEI this morning
  2. Schilling suffered the injury in his final regular season outing against the Yankees, NOT in Game 1 against the Angels. Therefore, he was pitching with the injury against the Angels, which means there was no doubt that he should of started Game 1.
  3. I will always bet on something that's a known fact.
  4. I always read BSG and he keyed on all the stupid things McCarver and Buck said. I didn't think Leiter was good seeing as he talked about twice an inning.
  5. Too bad it's not Pedro vs Brandon Arroyo like McCarver thought. I replayed that about 20 times and still couldn't stop laughing.
  6. But he had this injury for almost the entire first half and it didn't affect him then, which leads me to believe that it was just a bad outing.
  7. People have bad innings, I thought that Schilling would rebound from the poor first inning and come back strong. The pitch Matsui hit was a great pitch thrown by Schilling, but it was a good piece of hitting by Matsui to hit that pitch when it was almost on the ground. Bernie's hit was a ground ball up the middle. The only hard hit ball that inning was Sheffield's double.
  8. Timlin got Matsui out so you can't complain about that, even though I do think Tito should have brought in Myers. Bernie is a weaker hitter from the left side and he was 3-21 lifetime against Timlin, so I think Tito made the right move in keeping Timlin in to face Bernie. Of course you wouldn't of started Schilling knowing what you know now, but Schilling at less health is better than whoever else you would have started. Would you have started Wakefield, because he must be tired according to you so he can't pitch? Do you think Lowe would have done much better seeing how he struggled mightily against Tampa Bay and had a horrendous start last time he pitched at Yankee Stadium. It just seems to me that you are just looking to find a reason to criticize Tito for every move he does. but you do this after the fact. I think in no way did Tito cost us the game last night.
  9. Curt's quote I believe was taken out of context. When he said it he was just saying how in this stadium he has the opportunity to shut 55,000 fans up. He didn't say he was going to do it, but that he had the opportunity. I also don't think that the problem was the ankle last night. I think he just didn't have his best stuff and I fully expect him to come back strong in Game 5.
  10. How did he leave Schilling in too long? Did you want him taken out after thye scored 2 runs? You have to have faith in your pitching especially your best pitching and not take him out at the first sign of trouble.
  11. You could have posted this in any one of the millions of ALCS threads, but you decide to make a separate thread. How stupid do you guys get?
  12. And some of us continue to come back after being banned.
  13. To update, Rivera will be available for Game 1 according to Cashman.
  14. Rivera is one of the Yankees, that I really have respect for. I don't think he will miss that much time though. He may miss Game 1 or Game 2, but nothing more than that. But, I don't see him being left off the roster.
  15. You have to start your 2 best guys in games 1 and 2. It is so critical to win those games to get off to a good start, especially if you're on the road. You can't wait to pitch Schilling in game 3, even if he is on track to pitch game 7 because there's no sure chance there will be a game 7.
  16. The Red Sox play Dirty Water by the Standells and Tessie by the Dropkick Murphys, I haven't heard what the Dodgers play.
  17. Pats break the record with a 24-10 win over the Dolphins.
  18. He's baaack
  19. I read that Williamson will finally have surgery on the injured elbow on Monday, so that is out of the question.
  20. Lieber pitched very well tonight, he had a couple shaky innings but settled down and pitched a very good game. If Lieber pitches like he did tonight then I think the Yankee rotation is better than we all thought.
  21. I'm not throwing jabs. I'm as huge of a hockey fan as you'll find. My screen name is after ex-Bruin P.J. Stock. I'm just so depressed that the only thing that will be on this winter is basketball.
  22. At least we've got hockey after baseball. Oh, wait never mind.
  23. I was going to say if only your trades were as smart as this post until I realized that this list wasn't your own.
  24. Peter Gammons continues to make a case for Rivera, saying the Yankees wouldn't be in the playoffs without him. But if they were without Rivera, don't you thng George would just go out and get another top notch closer. I vote Vlad because he single handedly stepped up in September and thrusted his team into the playoffs. He had the best numbers in the league during September and this was in very meaningful games where a playoff spot was on the line.
