  1. I think Hansen will be on the roster. Youkilis, Stern, Belhorn might come back for a little bit. Delcarmen, Dinardo, do we still have Malaska? And don't be surprised if Pedroia and or Ramirez make brief stints.
  2. And Francona's blessed with what, the bad news bears? Manny, Schilling, Ortiz, Pedro last year, Varitek, Damon, etc. wow, at least that's not a group of All- Stars. These are guys that help teams win. Why do you think Tito was unsuccessful in Philly, it was because he didn't have six all- stars to work with. The only real decisions Tito has to make is when to take the starter out (which granted he does a decent job of, except he brings terrible pitchers in or at least he did when Embree was here), and who to start at first base. Not that hard in my book.
  3. That's just the thing, the Sox let the players do what they want. It's sickening. It is the manager's job to tell the players what to do and not the other way around. That's what cost us the 2003 ALCS and that's the problem with Tito. It's just lucky for Tito the Sox were up 10-3 in the 2004 ALCS or he'd be a goat too.
  4. I tried to tell you guys about Edgar.............
  5. Francona is actually a bad manager in general. You can't name a lot of great decisions he's made. And yes he is too loyal (see Millar and Embree). The Red Sox refuse to get a MANAGEr and as a result when they start losing the talent, they'll start losing games.
  6. Lack of speed MC? Ortiz was second on the team in triples last year with 3. And he's got a 100% SB% this year. The guy is a deceptive runner.
  7. Thank you Elsbrueno. The World Series was Manny's only good postseason series last year. Against Anaheim and New York he did next to nothing. And what did he hit like 1 maybe 2 homers that entire playoff or something like that. Great production for a clean- up hitter at $20 million a year.
  8. I say send him ot the Mets. That way he and his ever so good friend Pedro could be reunited again, and forever gone from the Red Sox. I'm so sick of Manny that I've actually come close to puking. Like Pedro he is the exact opposite of a team player, but Sox fans ignore that because of the numbers. It's pathetic. The Sox can win without either of those two guys and I think it's about time they start trying to.
  9. I would like to thank Manny Ramirez for being a great team player in helping us to lose a series to the frickin Tigers. I hope to God he is not a Red Sock in 2006, and I wouldn't mind if his 2005 season ended short too. Then he'd get all the rest he needs.
  10. this is Wells worst game in a while, since he came back from his short injury stint he has pitched very well overall. Every pitcher has their bad games, just sucks Wells' is happening to come against the Tigers
  11. and he shoulda been benched
  12. Keep him around, he can only get better
  13. and Ray, lets not take advantage of one of the quickest guys in the game (Damon), lets let him stay at first and hope we dont DP, good call. if u got speed use it.
  14. No your right Sizzlin, lets continue to shrug off Manny's idiocy. I dont give a damn if he gets 107 RBIs, and neither does he. Aah, we have a day off tomorrow, but i'll sit today too. It's a team game. If your not going to help the team you should be benched. I don't care if your Manny or Youkilis. The game should be played right and hard, if your not willing to do that then sit on bench. It's not about the individual.
  15. i never surrender never have never will, but we are beatin a dead horse at this point. and unless edgar makes the decisive error, i wont blame him for a postseason failure, but i'll still bet he isnt the reason for a success.
  16. thatta boy Tanny, providin the lyrics....clutch
  17. thats the one
  18. It is sad, the mistakes the Sox make on the basepaths are just simple heads up plays. I've seen 13 years olds run the bases better than some of these guys do. Also, it doesn't help that we have the worst third base coach in the league. Instead of fining them, these guys should just get benched, but Tito would never do that.
  19. Alright, I'll let it die for now, but we'll see if he was really worth it come October. Miguel Tejada is a great shortstop from April to September, but when October comes around, he chokes.
  20. At one point in your career, every player is going to have to live up to hype and handle the pressure. I honestly don't think whether he's 23 or 28 is going to make a difference. Guys can either handle the pressure or they can't. I've seen rookies with more poise than 10 year vets, you either have it or you don't.
  21. I wasn't saying Cabrera had been driven in as much as Edgar. I was saying he was driven in more because of Guerrero.
  22. Are you both stupid? Even Wade Boggs has admitted that Fenway helped him to build the Hall of Fame career he had. And you want to go to other stats too, fine. Since Guerrero's been back I'll bet Cabrera has been driven in more. Why do you think Edgar has? Ahh, could it be because he has David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez batting after him. Ahh, I think so. Put him in front of Mueller and Cora and see how many times he crosses the plate. Edgar has just one more HR, granted a few more RBIs, but here's so more food for thought. Pretty much 3.5 out of 10 times Edgar has a guy on base in front of him, Cabrera? 2.85 out of 10. For only 9 extra RBIs, the math is probably similar. OC has more steals, and been caught less. His fielding % is better. All this including the fact he's played in 14 less games. Or better yet, let's take a peek at OC's numbers in Boston, which was in about 40 less games. 6 HRs (equal). 19 doubles* wonder why (1 less). 60 less TBs, but in 40 games difference, you do the math. .465 SLG %, way better than Edgar. .294 AVG, better than Edgars .277. 4 SBs half of Edgar's 8. 23 Ks well below Edgar's 65, even his total of 31 this year is. 31 RBI, jsut 11 short of Edgar.
  23. Cry me a river. That's just it, Boston is a pressure city if you can't handle it don't come. The same goes for NY. Many careers have ended because guys can't handle the pressures here. Well you know what, those are the guys who don't produce in the playoffs too.
  24. Yeah keep comparing those numbers, cuz it's easy when Cabrera doesnt have a 35 foot wall to aim at. You can't compare his numbers unless he's playing for Cleveland at the Jake. Why do you think Millar's numbers are even decent. THAT BIG GREEN WALL. So stop comparing Edgar's AVG to Cabrera's unless you figure out some method to devise what Cabrera's AVG would be if he had a wall to hit at.
