Vartiek is much more valuble then stats would indicate, the thing about 'Tek is that he is a clubhouse leader, and the leader of a pitching staff. He spends hours upon hours studying batters to prepare a good game. That alone is why he should be resigned.

The Yankees have won I belive 7 WS since 1961, which is a long long time ago, but I took a look at other sports in which a team dominated their sport then faded away. The Canton Bulldogs of the NFL had won 4 NFL championships in 10 years that's more than I belive 25 NFL Teams currently. Now, who remembers the Canton Bulldogs? Do you hear anyone say 4 to 1 or 4 to 0? No cause no one right now cares about the Canton Bulldogs who played in 1920, and 1920 is way to far away to matter right now.

I attribute that success to Braves pitching coach Leo Mazo..? I don't know how to spell it. The Braves can turn crap into gold somehow, which is why they can compete every year. Wright is going to bomb it up next year, try pitching to the Sox, O's, and other powerhouses.
