  1. You contridicted yourself when you said you don't care about examples that failed, yet you brought up two that say that they can suceed. The best example would be Cinncinnati's Ryan Wagner. He didn't log a lot of minor league innings, but was called up during the same season as he was drafted, and he pitched very well in '03.
  2. I won't enter, because I believe Tek is more deserving of the tickets then I am. Thanks anyway, Cape.
  3. You're incorrect on all three of your post. Bonds has never once offered to test in front of the media, he wouldn't put himself in that kind of position. Sheffield offered, but when a reporter produced a cup, he backed down. And Sosa, cried like a little bitch when Rick Reilly told him to test right now. I believe his quote was "Are you trying to get me in trouble?!!"
  4. Yeah, that strategy worked out great for the Yankees. If you got a good postion prospect knocking on the door, and who you have rights for the next six years, he's got to be called up. Graffanino is good player, but why keep a 34 year old, who is a career utilty infielder, over a 22 year old potential all star?
  5. I know, but just losing 23 in a row is weak, it's gotta break the alltime record.
  6. Good point, that the NCAA to AA is a big jump, that's true, it is, but you contridicted yourself in your post. Papelbon has pitched well, but he's 24 years old, and he's two years removed from Mississippi St. Delcarmen has pitched OK, but without much control. He's been in our system since '02. The problem with promoting Hansen, is that he's playing in Boston. The fans have to lower expectations. No one should think that Hansen is going to come in and dominate. He'll most likely come in with maybe a 4.00 ERA, maybe higher. He'll be a domiant force in the bigs for a while, but he needs at least 15-20 apperances in the minors.
  7. The record is 26 by the Louisville Colonels. The Royals real problem is that season when they won too many games in 2003. They got that taste of winning in their mouth, and had to build for success. They lost sight of what they were, a small market team. They added players that weren't good fits (Juan Gonzalez, Scott Sullivan) instead of building within. They'll be OK in the future. Billy Butler is a premirer prospect at 1B. They need to get Alex Gordon signed, he'll be really good at 3rd base. Chris Lubasnki is a pretty good OF prospect. The problem with the Royals is that they lack starters in their system. They have Denny Batistia, and Zack Grienke but that's it. They need to address that in the forecoming drafts.
  8. I don't think Pedoria is "not close at all", he probably could start now. Tony Graffanino will not be the starter next year. Do you expect Graffanino, a .263 career hitter, to hit .300 again next year?
  9. Oakland - 55 million (around that area) Manny- 20 million I think Billy Beane would do backflips if ownership allowed him to get Manny Ramriez. His career OBP is .409.
  10. Ha, the Bucs making the playoffs!!! Chiefs in last? They added Surtain, Knight, Johnson, Bell, Ambrose, and Hall to their defense.
  11. East 1. Pats- the quicker everyone who isn't a Patriot fan, accept that this team is a machine, then the quicker you'll accept their dominance 2. Bills- Losman should improve the Bills O, he can run, Bledsoe couldn't. 3. Jets- Pennington shoulder is a big red flag 4. Dolphins- need to improve O-Line North 1. Ravens- best D in league will lead them to division title 2. Steelers- 2nd best D in league will lead them to a Wild Card 3. Bengals- They'll be in the playoffs in '06 4. Browns- They should name this team the Whores, because their paid to blow. South 1. Colts- this division blows, so this is the only team that can take it. 2. Jaguars- Leftwich's left arm depends on if they can make the playoffs 3. Texans- See Bengals 4. Titans- Wow, this team sucks. West 1. Chiefs- SuperBowl winners right here. 2. Chargers- They'll fight the Chiefs for the division crown 3. Raiders- They can't stop the run, at all. 4. Broncos- Probably a 7-9 record will be good for last place in this division. East 1. Cowboys- Bledsoe should help balance O 2. Eagles- They'll finish first if TO shuts the f*** up. 3. Giants- This is the year Eli proves he's better than his brother, too bad that's Cooper. 4. Redskins- No offense at all. South 1. Panthers- Great D, plus healthy offense will result in division crown 2. Falcons- Wild Card 3. Saints- They always choke in the 2nd half 4. Bucs- This isn't fantasy football, they need some offensive linemen. North 1. Packers- This division is so bad, that our local HS football team could take this division 2. Vikings- Did the 1918 Red Sox tell you to make the Moss trade? 3. Lions- Joey Harrington isn't a good QB, but if they put Garcia in, they could win the division 4. Bears- Ha, good luck with Chad Hutchinson West 1. Rams- Stephen Jackson will lead the team into the playoffs 2. Cardinals- Their defense is getting better, and Warner is better than McCown. 3. Seahawks- They need to quit moping when they lose a game 4. 49ers- If you like S&M, then you'll love watching this team play football. Boy, it's gunna be painful.
  12. Dumbest Post of the Day! You want to get rid of a guy who's hitting .285 with 32 HR's with 108 RBI's? A guy that protects David Ortiz, allowing him to get good pitches to hit? And why, because he doesn't play all 162 games?
  13. Bring him up now? I'm sure that sounded like a great idea, but so did the S&M which resulted in the broken leg. Tony G. playing very well since he's been with the ballclub, I'd rather see him then Pedoria right now. There's always next year, so then Pedoria can make his debut.
  14. C'mon guys, don't post any of the insider articles, it's called copyright infringement.
  15. If you do that, then you might as well perform S & M when your not, because that's less painful. These names won't be that big, and it'll be probably a week or two before it's confirmed by MLB.
  16. His future is in the bullpen, he won't help the Red Sox in the rotation. His A game is pretty good, his B game is average, and his C game is like having a start from John Henry. He won't ever be a dominant pitcher, but he could be a good bullpen guy to have on the roster.
  17. Fastball, Slider, and a changeup to keep hitters off balance.
  18. Eagles finish second to 'Boys in the NFC East, I guarntee it.
  19. I have always wondered as well about Trot Nixon. Hasn't anyone noticed where his injuries occur? In the legs, and when injuries happen down there it usually is a runny nose for steriods. But right now? I would say no. Trot Nixon isn't that dumb.
  20. What's a big name exactly? They were saying that Ryan Franklin was a "big name", and I seriously doubt the average fan knows anything about Ryan Franklin. It's most likely going to be someone in the major leagues, that is on an active roster, but doesn't do anything worth noticing.
  21. This Thread Needs To Die!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Good post, thanks for ending the Renteria bash.
  23. Hanley isn't ready on offense or defense, and his future certainly isn't at SS.
  24. If that were the case, he'd be on the juice back in '03, when his average started to decline. The fans began to grumble when he sat game 5 of the WS. I made the point that he wouldn't take the roids to protect his family, your point is that he would take them so the fans would love him. Two Different Cases! Don't call me a moron, if you just throw words into people's mouths, because frankly that is moronic.
