  1. Those 6,7,8, and 9 Yankee hitters aren't that good.
  2. Petagine? The career minor leaguer? This team is loaded offensively, I'm sure that Millar won't hurt them out their in the field, because face it he's having a good year with the glove. I'd rather have Olerud at 100% every two days, then Olerud at 80% and declining each day he's out there.
  3. Olerud is 37 years old, you can't expect him to play everyday. This is probably what's going to happen the rest of the year, two days in, one day out. It's a perfect strategy.
  4. Yes, quite. Ripping good laugh.
  5. He's leading off and playing RF. So far Trot has singled in his only AB of the game, and later scored on a 2 run HR by Youkilis.
  6. Both runs were earned runs, which didn't cost us the game. You could argue that Renteria's error allowed Figgins to score on the wild pitch, but another run had been put on the board before the error. We still lose the game 3-2.
  7. On second though, you're right. Arroyo would be a much better option out of the pen against RH batters. RH hitters have a paltry .272 OBP against Bronson.
  8. Our bullpen in October probably will end up looking like this: CL: Foulke SU: Timlin MR: Papelbon MR: Hansen MR: Bradford MR: Myers LR: Wakefield/Arroyo/Miller (the guy who doesn't make the postseason rotation) Postseason rotation (if we make it there, which we will) 1. Schilling 2. Wells 3. Clement 4. Arroyo
  9. Yankees win, the White Sox are not getting any good swings right now. That usually bodes well for a strikeout pitcher.
  10. 22 IP's 44 K's 0 ER, in the Cape League. That's just unbelievable.
  11. Royals get out of a two on, no out situation. DP and a flyout. Hey, they might do this.
  12. They still got Adrian Peterson, and they did land the number 4 recruit in the nation last year at QB, so they'll be OK.
  13. Winning three starts is clutch?
  14. I doubt he's throwing 7 innings. Unless he dominates completely, he won't be out there for more than 5 or 6.
  15. f*** what I said, this motherf***er is ready. I was listening to the game on portlandseadogs.com, and he just dominated. Hansen pitched the 8th, and fanned two (K swinging, pop out, and K swinging), his slider was clocked at 90 mph on both strikeouts, and his fastball sat at 95 mph, while topping out at 97.
  16. He's not that good.
  17. Izturis hits .162 against lefties, so I think Remlinger can get him. Not hopeful, but he can do it.
  18. Kennedy is a lefty. Timlin pitched last night, Myers needs to be saved so he can get Erstad, and Remlinger? Well, I don't think I need to explain that one.
  19. Remlinger's on his way out, he'll most likely be DFA'd within the next couple of days. (Monday?) Dark Horse Candiate to make a October impact: Jon Lester.
  20. He'll falter after he throws his 80th pitch.
  21. I hate to disagree with you, but you're often right, as you are here. Schilling's velocity wasn't great, but his splitter did look good. The key is consistancy, which Schilling hasn't shown.
  22. I think before we start attacking Francona we have to wait until Trot's return. If Millar gets AB's against righties then, then well, Francona has some explaining to do. The only reasons I can think of are that Olerud is old, and Petagine is a career minor leaguer. The both of them are still better than Millar.
  23. Millar's probably going to lose more time as soon as Nixon gets back. No one can defend starting a .500 OPS (his OPS this month) hitter.
  24. Bonds would probably piss on the interviewers, but never into a cup.
