  1. Bell never cracked 1,000 yards at Arizona, and most of his games were against teams with sub-par defenses. The skinny on Bell is that he's not particularly fast, or particularly strong. But, who the hell knows? I can guess that Bell won't be the starting RB week two. It will probably go to Ron Dayne. (Which is kind of what you said) Yeah, that's why I've never put a lot of stock into training camps. Walker's good. So he should be able to breeze through training camps. I will go out on a limb, and safely say that Walker will never again reach 1,400 yards receiving. I don't think he's THIS kind of player. I don't know. But the stats clearly indicate that the Broncos pass coverage was not very good. The Broncos had an inability to cover elite WR's, such as Terrell Owens. I think Denver is a fine football team, but I don't think they are the best.
  2. Trail by 1/2 game to the Twins.
  3. Probably trying to set up the DP.
  4. Maybe if you were listening to Harrelson. "GET UP GET UP!!!!!, aww." Wasn't close.
  5. Not one of those pitches were strikes. To quote RHS's baseball coach, "swing at everything cuz when u take a strike u miss a hr." Yeah, that's why RHS hasn't made the playoffs in 6 years.
  6. This is why you teach selective hitting.
  7. Clippard would die, if he was called up to the bigs.
  8. Keep an eye on the Diamondbacks and Dodgers. They know how to build organizations from the ground up.
  9. The Dodgers farm system is outstanding. The reason they've been able to be so close is because of some of those players. Broxton, Either, Martin, Repko, Billingsey, and Kemp all have helped the Dodgers get into first place. They were able to plug the holes they had using the prospects they didn't need. They don't even need to resign Garciaparra, Lugo, or Kent. They can plug in LaRoche, Betemit, and Loney at the respective IF positions. The Red Sox have a good farm system, it's just that the Dodgers have either the first or second one in MLB. Plus, they play in a bad division.
  10. f*** him. He's gotten every single advantedge handed to him ever since he was a high school student. He needs more help? The guy's a lost cause. He'd probably be better off in prison for the rest of his life. He isn't going to amount to anything. Except that Indoor Football League he's got going on for him. Thumbs up Clarett, you really showed the facists of the NFL.
  11. No-No through four for Randy Johnson.
  12. Anderson, Droughns, and Davis all had a lot of talent. Davis was a star, and probably would have been elsewhere. I don't know that you can insert Mike Bell into the 1st RB and expect him to run wild. Ron Danye could probably do it, but Mike Bell? I'm not questioning the ability for the Broncos to run the football, but I don't see two of those running backs rushing for 1,000 yards. Rod Smith is 36 years old. Other than Jimmy Smith, who else has been an elite WR at this stage of their career? Smith has been a good player, but if he gets 1,000 yards, I'll be shocked. Training camp? Playing in practice is much different then playing in live action. s***, the Bucs said they loved this kid Paris Warren during training camp, they loved him so much that they cut him. Walker's been a good player, but he's good. Not elite. He certaintly could become elite, but I doubt that he's going to hit the ground running this upcoming year. Larry Johnson is good enough to overcome that. Don't fool yourself, Roaf was nagged by injuries, and shouldn't be confused with the dominant player he once was. In fact, he missed 5 games last year. Didn't hurt Larry Johnson.
  13. Crede's very good, but Robinson? Maybe he means just this season.
  14. What exactly did Denver add to that defense? They were absolutely torched in the secondary last year, and they lost a pretty good defensive end in Trevor Pryce. So yeah, I'd call that defense, "average." Who is that 1,000 yard rusher? Mike Bell? Tatum Bell doesn't stay on the field long enough to be a 1,000 yard rusher. He starts strong, then fades badly. The disparancy between his first 10 carries and his last 10 is almost 3 yards per carry. He's not a workhorse, he's a very good backup, but not a guy who can shoulder the load. Javon Walker is coming off a knee surgery. I'd wait until you proclaim him a savior. Rod Smith is 36 years old, you can't expect him to repeat his '05 season. The Chiefs added Ty Law, and Tamba Hali to that defense. It's safe to say that the defense will be better. Both teams will probably finish near 11-5.
  15. I don't know. After watching this team for the last two weeks, NOTHING is a lock.
  16. Tell me what Moneyball is exactly?
  17. Having money to spend gives you a leg up on your competitors. Surely you're not denying that. Signing bonus wasn't as high as the contracr Roy Williams signed. If any of those players survive the length of their contracts, I'll be shocked. Brian Griese got 6 and 30. Do you really expect this guy to last that long? He's more fragile then my grandfather, and he has osteoporosis.
  18. I wish we played this bad. :dunno:
  19. Javy isn't making Lester throw balls.
  20. Wang's getting hit hard tonight. (unusual)
  21. There's no chance in hell the Red Sox could have defeated the White Sox. Even if Pedro was in the rotation, he probably might win a game, but the White Sox pitching staff was too deep, and the bullpen too strong. In fact, the 2004 team was lucky. They were able to have their five starters make every start. In 2005, the team didn't get all the breaks it needed. Foulke was one of the worst closers in baseball, Schilling was one of the worst starters. More than Pedro Martinez, and Derek Lowe would be needed for the Red Sox to stave off a defeat.
  22. The Redskins are not masters at dominating the cap. No one is. In fact, the only true way to manipulate the cap is to cheat. Much like the Denver Broncos did during their run. What the Redskins are doing is perfectly legal. They avoid paying large salary bonuses to players. By avoiding that, they can release the players in the middle of their contract, and can avoid a massive hit to their salary caps. Ask yourself this though, in this day of NFL contracts, would you sign without a large bonus? Manipulating the cap still doesn't seem to be working. The Redskins haven't had a winning season since 1999 (save for '06). Remember the Bruce Smith, and Deion Sanders disasters? That probably inhibited the Redskins to get back up to the top during those years. Besides, even now the Redskins aren't adding top-flight football players. Unless you consider Randle-El, and Brandon Lloyd to be top-flight.
  23. They'll freeze in Cleveland. The Bucs are 3-28 in games where the temperature is below thirty-two degrees. I think they might have a shot, but no one is confusing Florida's winters, with Ohio's winters.
  24. Twins and White Sox lose. Red Sox now tied for WC lead.
