  1. You'd have a case here, but probably not in Japan.
  2. Yeah, but I don't sign contracts when I get hired. If I signed a five year deal with Miller, quit in the middle of my contract, and Miller doesn't want me to go work for Budwiser for the rest of my contract, they are allowed to do that. If Miller and I, agree to a buyout, they cannot exercise a restraint of trade. In this case, allowing baseball players to quit in the middle of their contracts hurts MLB as a whole, and couldn't possibly be ruled illegal.
  3. They haven't signed professional contracts. They are able to sign in the United States. Technically, Matsuzaka could have signed when he was 18, but decided to play in Japan.
  4. I'm curious. With Gil Meche landing a $11 million dollar deal in KC, is Boras really being unfair asking for $15 million?
  5. With the sorry state our bullpen is in right now, if Rich Garces signed he'd be our closer.
  6. Roughly equal to the chance of Elton John banging Jessica Alba.
  7. No worries. I thought your question was sarcasm.
  8. Generally, when people give updates like that, it usually means they are in the lead. I really could care less if we were tied for 7th.
  9. Was that Colston who went down?
  10. HORSN, ORS, and me are all tied in the spread category at eight games apiece.
  11. I'm sure they were saying the same thing about Ted Williams and Rollie Fingers.
  12. Most left-handed relievers are usually at 90 mph. I'll admit I've never seen him play, but we should know for sure in March.
  13. It happens to be the truth, by the way.
  14. Player 1 = .454 OBP, 27 HR's .999 OPS. 1 year 16 million. Player 2 = .386 OBP 20 HR's .890 OPS 5 years 70 million Player 3 = .355 OBP 37 HR's .905 OPS 6 years 100 million Seriously, I don't see how, in this market, that this is a terrible deal.
