  1. I've refuted all of these points, yet this idiot continues to post the same stupid s***. Enough. Please.
  2. Jeff Kent is available if anyone wants him.
  3. He was being sarcastic.
  4. Would you be willing to give up the kind of talent St. Louis surrendered to land Mulder? Harden is an injury prone starting pitcher, who is currently on the DL. He is not a sell high candidate. No, selling high on him would be allowing him to throw a few effective innings, show off his stuff, and then trade him. We don't know what deal Beane has seen, but if it was anything similar to what he got for Mulder, I'm pretty sure that Harden would already have been traded.
  5. Congrats. Good luck on your future endeavors. BTW, does that mean you can prescribe anything?
  6. Mulder and Hudson were both into their six years of big league service time, and were prime for massive contracts in the offseason. The arbitration figures for the two were pretty big, as well. Both were big sell high candiates, too. Harden isn't close to the same amount of service time as the other two.
  7. They probably won't use Gabbard.
  8. I have to think there is something more to this. Those kids look about 13. I doubt anyone is going to suffer from the Bystander effect that badly.
  9. I hope they skull f*** Tyler Clippard. I'm so sick of the Mike Mussina comparisons.
  10. I appreciate the sentiment.
  11. My major investment if I were Theo Epstein, would be Joe Nathan. That way, the Red Sox can slide Papelbon into the rotation, and still have a dominant force at the back end of the bullpen.
  12. I've never seen Andruw Jones looked so overmatched.
  13. He doesn't have anywhere near that kind of power, and he is a career .271 hitter. I guarantee you, he's going to be hitting under .300 this year. 23 HR's is a solid figure, but Hunter will want superstar money, and he is not a superstar.
  14. Hunter is showing some incredible power, but I don't think he's that level of a player. He's also walked 5 times this year. You can expect that average to decline a bit.
  15. Can you name one other player like Harden that Beane has traded?
  16. No, because you have to play at least four games to make that call.
  17. Good baseball men gave him that award. No doubt swayed by the media.
  18. I think you don't understand how VORP works. If Lugo was hitting at that clip, this is what his and Jeter's VORP would look like: http://www.carlschaad.com/blog/blogpics/argy1.jpg Jeter is on the left, Lugo on the right.
  19. I was browsing the boston.com Red Sox interactive poll, and I stumbled upon a question that asked, "Should the Red Sox play more small ball?" (bunts, steal bases, manufacturing runs, etc.) I thought this should be an overwhelmingly no answer. The Red Sox have hated small ball since 2003, and the results? 2006 - 6th in runs scored 2005 - 1st in runs scored 2004 - 1st in runs scored 2003 - 1st in runs scored The poll voted yes, and not by a small margin. 87.3% disregarded statistics, common sense, and logic. The other 12.7% voted that the Red Sox should continue to use the strategy since 2003. Do these people actually watch the game?
