  1. Schilling still got robbed of a W and will cost him in the Cy Young race, it was the only catagory he led in. Who knows, Santana might not pitch as much cause the Twins clinched already
  2. Insult to injury, Bellhorn at bat.
  3. Man, I saw this one coming a mile away, let's see if we can NOT make the playoffs.
  4. As much as I love Fenway park, you can't trust any leads in it, it works both for and against us, but from our point of view it seems like its more against us.
  5. Keith Foulke is my mortal enemy. The ballpark kills us, we could have fricken Eric Gagne and STILL have bullpen issues.
  6. Bases loaded, 1 out, we'll find a way NOT to score.
  7. First, whats your beef with Kay? He say something bad about the Sox? Secondly, Schilling is the man, too bad he has no run support right now. I doubt he'll go out there in the 9th, which sucks because he needs every win he can get if he wants to win the Cy Young Award. Oh well, lets just focus on winning this game.
  8. At least schilling pitches tomorrow... unfortunately so it Rodrigo Lopez who has OWNED us this year...
  9. Ha, the sox don't know how... Not that it matters, but the Yankees are losing. That's always good no matter what the standings are.
  10. yeah well that druggie looks like he should win the cy young right now
  11. 2 on, 1 out... bellhorn at the plate, I'm guessing strike out or double play... Bellhorn has been utter crap of late.
  12. God what I would give to have the Red Sox win the series... Frankly I saw the result of this game before it began. This team is the epitome of disapointments, how could we go from such a high, to such a low...
  13. Im sorry, but right now our 1-2 is Schilling-Arroyo, wat happened to Pedro? Why is wake so bad? WTF were we thinking with Lowe?
  14. I wish that were the case, lately he and Varitek have been battling for who can strike out more.
  15. 5-0 Orioles, wake shows no control, walks in a run and then gives up a grand slam. Perhaps WE are the ones with the rotation problems, not the yankees.
  16. Im not feeling too good about this one for 3 reasons: 1) Baltimore has given us trouble all year. 2) We've made the past few left handers all look like Randy Johnson. 3) Morale is low. Combination of the 3 makes me think we're gonna hobble into the playoffs. Schill can't pitch everyday can he?
  17. I don't care what anyone says, Williamson was the most dominant reliever the sox had, possibly the best in the AL East.
  18. Well, we are coming down to the last month of the regular season and the Sox are right in the thick of it. As of right now, the Red Sox are 6.5 games out in the East, and 0.5 games up in the Wild Card. The past week has been nothing short of Euphoric for the Red Sox. Making up the ground they did is an amazing feat. However, in my opinion, and I've felt this for a while, for the Red Sox to even think about the East they must enter September with a deficit under 5 games, which is entirely possible. September is no easy feat. It's starts pretty rough and then softens out at the end. For those who don't have a schedule on them this is what September looks like. Hard Part ------------------- Aug. 31-Sept. 2 vs. Anahiem Sept. 3- Sept. 5 vs. Texas Sept. 6-Sept. 8 @ Oakland Easier Part -------------------- Sept. 9-Sept.12 @ Seattle Sept. 14-Sept. 16 vs. Tampa Bay This series could be very important ------------------------------------------- Sept. 17-Sept-19 @ New York Back home against that annoying team from Balt & NY again ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sept. 20-Sept. 23 vs. Baltimore Sept. 24-Sept. 27 vs. New York Sept. 28-Sept. 30 @ Tampa Bay September is very balanced between teams in the playoff hunt, teams out of the playoff hunt, and 2 very integral series against the Yankees. If the Red Sox are close in the standings (under 5 games), I would really want Francona to manipulate the lineup to have Pedro, Wakefield, and Schilling pitch against the Yanks. If were trying to beat the Yanks we'll need our two aces, as well as Wakefield who has a history of success against the Yanks. My feeling is that if we keep playing like we have been we can win the East, and even if we don't the Wild Card is still very attainable. We just need to keep up the good defense, and improve on the clutch hitting. We have everything we need on this team except for clutch hitting.
  19. Well, he needs to do it soon, I don't want the suspension affecting the Red Sox in September when they need to be 100% healthy. IMO, it's a smart move. As for tonight's game. What can you say? Lilly pitched great, end of story. He's been doing that his last few starts, but has lacked run support to show for it. On the flip side, Pedro did not pitch that bad either. 7.0 IP, 3 ER, and 10 K is most definately a quality start, even in a loss. We have Tim Wakefield going tomorrow who has pitched well against the Blue Jays, but I doubt Bautista will do as poorly as he did last time out. So tomorrows game could go either way. As for Wednesday, Schilling should put on a clinic. I really hope we win tomorrow so we can just keep taking these road series that we so desperately need to do.
  20. Baldelli made a really good throw. That's how the story of the game goes, we were over zealous. If nothing else it should have been tied on that ground ball that followed.
  21. Damn! Rocco Baldelli had such an accurate throw, typically Roberts would have scored but what can you say. That was a hell of a throw. At least we won a road series.
  22. CG Gem by Schilling. Things are looking up. Lets hope for the best from Arroyo tomorrow.
  23. I like the idea. Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.
  24. I have a feeling the Sox are going to pull a starting pitcher out of their asses, however Epstein has stated that he does not feel Clement has enough value for Garciapara, which is the only apparent deal right now. Oh Well, 3 hours til the deadline.
