  1. Life isn't always fair, but to tell you the truth making the ALCS two years in a row as a wildcard is an accomplishment all its own. We had to deal with issues all season, and we had to deal with them again this series. It just didn't work out ya know. Anyway, we have the Patriots going for 20 in a row tomorrow, and then tomorrow night we can enjoy one last game, and who knows, Derek Lowe will probably be making his last start in a Red Sox uniform, maybe he'll make it special. If we could just get one more on Monday it would mean a lot. It would mean a whole lot to Red Sox Nation.
  2. everyone looks like they've given up, that in turn makes the fans wonder why we even bother.
  3. talk about rough luck, a two run double turned into a double play... 5-runs is not unreasonable but still...
  4. 9-6 Yankees on a 3R HR by Sheffield...
  5. it's gonna be a long night for both bullpens... tied 6-6 on the Cabrera Double/Triple
  6. Nice play by Jeter. 4-3 Sox, time for Ortizzle.
  7. w00t, tie game! Damon infield hit! 3-3
  8. Welcome back trotter! (ok lame) 3-2 on the Nixon HR Note: Think of what could of been had Manny not been thrown out...
  9. That's not true it all. See what the NY media can do?
  10. Ok, so we were struck with an injury game 1, down 0-1. It happens. Game 2, pedro pitches well, but what can you say, you have to give Lieber credit. So now we are down 0-2. Everyone that thinks were out of it, first note this. I know it's been said before, but game 3 is the make or break game of the series. We're either in it 1-2, or out 0-3, there's a huge difference. Bronson Arroyo will take Game 3, and to be honest I have more faith in him than I do Martinez at this point. Arroyo has had four starts against the Yankees, and the Red Sox have won all 4 games. Arroyo has even matched up with Kevin Brown twice, so it's actually a favorable matchup. We win Game 3, were down 2-1, the same spot we were in last year. Yes, I know it looks bad, we were dealt a bad hand this round, but the Yankee's have been playing their's really well. Wakefield has been an equalizer in the past against the Yankees, and just as quickly as we were down 0-2 we could be tied 2-2. So this is what I'm saying, give the Red Sox your faith for at least one more game, we need not hand over the AL Pennant just like that.
  11. unless a miracle happens, then let me know.
  12. we better play REALLY good at home. Ouch.
  13. Nice AB by Damon, but unfortunately we still have a goose egg on the board, and it's almost Gordon/Rivera time.
  14. Good News: Pedro is pitching better. Bad News: Were still down 1-0 Silver Lining: It's only the 5th inning.
  15. of course this came in the heat of the battle... if we don't win tonight, our chances of survival are slim to none.
  16. Any shot of a comeback has just been flushed down the toilet. Tomorrow is a new game.
  17. Ummm, we were literally a foot away from tying this game. We need to hold the yankees here and get a run off rivera in the 9th. In the ninth we have.... 1. Nixon 2. Varitek 3. Cabrera nixon is a lefty so that hurts, varitek is hit or miss, cabrera can do damage.
  18. damn those 2 runs we fudged over late look like their gonna be a factor. At least were back in it, but no we are gonna have to deal with Gordon and Rivera, as if it were any consolation.
  19. Reason to be worried? The ankle appears to be a problem. To add to this, Moose had been perfect thus far. Through 6.
  20. Schilling will do what he always does, WIN!!!
  21. Wow, next week was set up for the 4-0 pats to go against the 4-0 seahawks, but the seahawks took a nosedive in the 4th quater and lose in overtime. While it doesn't have the same appeal, the Seahawks will be the toughest team we've faced since the Colts.
