  1. He just stole $8 million dollars from the Red Sox to play World of Warcraft this year. I don't get how he gets a pass for that. He's the same old moron that he's always been. The only thing that annoys me is that people think what he says matters.
  2. Cashman does terrible things with the minor league system through drafting and international free agent signings. This is why the Yankees minor league system ranks 5th in baseball.
  3. Injuries had nothing to do with it at all. All Cashman's fault. Patriots lost Tom Brady for the season today. If they miss the playoffs, make sure you blame Belichick.
  4. I'll take that over a win with the Yankees at this point. Good to hear.
  5. Hahaha. Sorry, I loved that thread title.
  6. Shades of Testaverde in '99. Huge, huge, huge loss.
  7. Coke has looked good, I like him to challenge for a spot next year.
  8. Like I said, that travel schedule was ridiculous. No surprise they were almost no hit. It doesn't matter if they're out of contention, those series were scheduled back to back already. They had an 'off day' before the Tampa series, and went straight to Seattle. Wouldn't it have made sense to put the off day between the two series? I'm not claiming it's a thing that only happens to the Yankees, but the fact that it happens at all is terrible.
  9. Travel day for the Yankees as they go from Tampa to Seattle without an off day. 7:05 first pitch time. Does that make any sense at all? This should be a 1 o'clock start.
  10. I didn't know that's the only way to get shoulder tendonitis. Anybody throwing a ball can get it. Who's to say it wouldn't have happened if he stayed in the bullpen?
  11. It doesn't bother me. I just want to win games, I don't care who benefits.
  12. I don't see the correlation between Joba starting and his injury. Same thing could have happened in the bullpen.
  13. Chamberlain wouldn't pitch again as a starter this year regardless. So we can get some high leverage innings out of him during a last ditch effort, or not have him at all. Hmm, tough choice. There's no indecisiveness in the organization. Chamberlain is a starter. If they were 10 games up right now, they'd be bringing him along to start Game 1 of the playoffs. As it is, they want him to get some work before the season ends.
  14. The Giambis and Mussinas cut down on first round draft picks for Cashman. Also, as noted hundreds of times before, they didn't reform the scouting department until '06. When Oppenheimer, who is the director of scouting, took over, the Yankees have moved from one of the worst minor league systems to one of the best. This year, Chamberlain has shown he will be a dominant starter, we moved extra pieces in the minor leagues for Marte and Nady, and we've got guys like Aceves and Coke pushing to be major leaguers, and guys like Robertson, Ramirez, and Veras contributing to a cheap and effective bullpen. You want to see what happens when you have no minor league system? Take a look at the Mets after the 7th inning. Cashman is 10 times the GM that Minaya is, and we're going to reap the benefits of it next year. One missed postseason does not ruin his reputation.
  15. http://www.nysun.com/sports/missing-the-playoffs-will-benefit-yankees/84984/ I liked the article, it was an interesting look. Hopefully we'll see some of this stuff come to fruition. It's so weird to know the Yankees are done, especially this early. Usually I don't get this feeling until Game 4 against the Angels. I'm still rooting for the Yanks to win and do well, but once October starts, I'm going to adopt Tampa for the playoffs. I can't be upset if they win the whole thing, they're a great story.
  16. Section 55, Row X. Thanks Stubhub.
  17. Is that eastern or pacific time?
  18. Working til 10, unfortunately.
  19. Strahan didn't want to go through training camp again. I think he'll come back.
  20. Just got tickets off Stubhub for tomorrow night's game. 60 bucks a man, really not bad considering the team and the fact there are so few home games remaining. Should be fun.
  21. It's never lupus. On the topic of Beckett, I'd be more than concerned about it if I were a Sox fan. I've already watched the Yankees lose their best starting pitcher twice this year, and it is tough to rebound from.
  22. Not ripping on you at all, but Jacko addressed each of your points individually and gave reasons for everything he wrote, while you're just posting a catchall response without any specific rebuttal to what he's saying. You didn't say anything about Oppenheimer, how it is now Cashman's team, and how long it should take prospects to develop. If he's taking the time and effort to specifically address your concerns, you should probably at least try to match that respect. It would help your credibility and encourage more intellectual debate.
  23. The exaggeration of Jeter's lack of ability at shortstop is amazing to me. He's having a better year defensively, and he's still ripped on. He's a decidedly average defensive shortstop. His range isn't great, but when he gets to the ball he makes the play. His RZR indicates this.
