  1. OH YEAH! And the Red Sox are no longer the defending World Champions. Whew, my life is back in order. Edit- it's a joke, relax folks
  2. Yeah I pointed this out earlier in a conversation with a Met fan. The AL is so much better than the NL it isn't funny.
  3. As a franchise I don't respect them. The 2005 White Sox, I've got nothing against. But it's tough to shake something like that. I honestly don't respect the Red Sox franchise for being an incredibly racist organization in their past, but I don't hold that against this club. Just my opinion.
  4. So far so good on the offseason, except for missing out on Mazzone.
  5. I don't see how you can respect a franchise that purposely lost a World Series.
  6. The computers put Texas in front of USC, so it isn't people's fault. I would love a playoff system, but that isn't happening any time soon. Bowl games make money, and that is all that matters. They don't care about a National Champion, just the bucks and the "academics".
  7. I think this will be a good series, going the distance. Houston isn't going to roll over. Two games so far have been good to watch, although it won't get the notoriety of the last two World Series.
  8. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=AiJDHCsEKTsQmjqFtSUdFlA5nYcB?slug=bcsstandings&prov=st&type=lgns Pretty interesting. I think it is justified, but most people are on USC's nuts. I don't see why going undefeated last year carries over to this year's standings. #1 should be the best team, and Texas has been more impressive with a tougher schedule, making them the legitimate #1.
  9. Hopefully we can put to rest the concept that Kevin Weekes is our top goalie. Lundqvist has looked very, very good in net. However, we're one injury away to Jagr or King Henrik to really being behind the 8-ball. We'll see how far we can go, could very well be a playoff team. Dominic Moore and Jed Ortmeyer are playing really well on the 4th line and should see more ice time.
  10. About 2 months late on the response, but yes I'm a big Ranger fan. They've impressed me so far, all the losses have been by 1 goal up until the empty netter against Buffalo. Referees robbed us there too, calling off the goal to make it 2-2.
  11. Cash is a good GM. He's staying with the Yankees, he's making moves for 2006 in the organization. If he were to leave, it would be to Philly, not Boston.
  12. Because they know people will go to Yanks/Sox no matter what the day.
  13. If Cash goes, let's bring in Epstein.
  14. I just threw up a little, in my mouth.
  15. USC did not impress me at all. Leinart looks like crap, though Reggie Bush is the real deal. Brady Quinn looks like a better QB than Leinart, and I'm not that high on Quinn right now. Texas will destroy USC.
  16. Not bad. Insane amount of money, no?
  17. Do this trade, I love it.
  18. Guys I want with the ball in the World Series. 1) Clemens 2) Pettitte 3) Oswalt 4) Buehrle 5) El Duque Actually that was fairly easy. I can't jump on the Contreras band wagon, I've watched him fall on his face in big spots too often.
  19. We're only one away from Rocky VII, Adrian's Revenge
  20. Theoretically, they shouldn't have allowed a yard. If they did their job all game, they would have had a shutout. That's not the discrepency, that is a credit to USC. But when they win the game by cheating (one of this message board's favorite terms in reference to Alex Rodriguez) that is something else. It isn't a credit to their talent. And had the correct call been made, they lose that game right there. If I'm not mistaken a 10 second runoff occurs on an offensive penalty if the clock is running and that team is trailing in the last 2 minutes. Without their timeouts, USC has lost, right there. If USC scores right there unaided, then whatever, amazing comeback by them. I'll put them in the category of the Cardinals last night or the Red Sox last year. But by bending the rules, they go into that A-Rod slap play category. Good try, but should pay for it.
  21. No, strike zones are defined by the rulebook.
  22. I know, Jeter would never cork his bat. But I digress.
  23. Derek Jeter hits a walkoff homerun to win the ALCS against Boston. They find out his bat was corked right afterwards. They still award Jeter the homer and the Yankees go to the World Series. Do you blame the umpires for blatantly messing up the call, or the Red Sox for "making it that close".
  24. You can't have an ERA if you never get an out. It's mathematically impossible.
  25. Refs get that call right, and Notre Dame wins. Regardless of the 61 yard gain. That's what matters.
