  1. I don't see any proof that he has one in his home. It says "Look for Johnny Damon's 40x20 Canvas Print on MTV Cribs this March!" at the top of the page, but it doesn't say in who's home. It's a bit bothersome (I'm Jewish) but somewhat amusing. I wish I could see a better picture, because it looks like a pretty crappy photoshop job on most of the faces.
  2. A great place to find tickets is http://www.craigslist.com Unfortunately, the quantity is rather limited since they are being sold by individuals. But you can usually get decent tickets for a pretty good price, or you can sometimes find someone who will trade tickets for another game or a concert event or something of the sort. I'm glad to hear that the Red Sox helped you out, which is a very admirable move in my book.
  3. Ah, but which would you rather have: Pokey SS Bellhorn 2B, or Nomar SS Pokey 2B? The latter would be much better, IMO.
  4. Well Pedro (usually) and Shill don't have that problem...but yeah, it does seem like a chronic problem. Our defense is good, but it needs to be supplemented by good pitching. Not to say our pitching is bad - but we give up too many runs often.
  5. I know at least two teachers from my school who ran it. I have no idea how long they ran it in, but they're both quite athletic. As for a qualifying time, it's a little over 3 hours for most age groups (obviously longer for older people). Here is a full chart: http://www.bostonmarathon.org/BostonMarathon/Qualifying.asp

You know there is a Florida, Mass. Unfortunately, no palm trees or coconuts. :-/
  7. Or about the Yanks... "Can't buy me a world series, money can't buy me a world series..." This season is starting to look very promising. Our starting pitching has improved 5-fold, our bullpen 10-fold, and our offense is just as good - without Nixon or Nomar!
  8. And blows, at the same time. Somehow, he defies the laws of physics... Reese does commit an error or two, and isn't anything amazing offensively (except for hot days like today) but he can sure steal hits and turn a quick double play.
  9. Crespo could take 3 or 4 years to significantly improve - Bellhorn is doing well right now (and will be a very good utility player once Nomar comes back). And one of the lefties in the bullpen will go down when Nixon comes back.
  10. Maddox is funny... Ask a Yankee fan how many wins does $183 buy.
  11. Actually, they had won their past 6 Game 7s (whatever round they've been in) and had never blown a 3-1 series lead. Eh, at least I'm not a big Bruins fan.
  12. Well thats pretty obvious - we have koalas in the trees, alligators romping the streets, and every Friday night I go and check out the big kangaroo boxing matches. Welcome, and good to have you - any of your Aussie friends follow baseball (or the Sox)?
  13. Well there is obviously a reason to dive...players wouldn't dive to make a catch if they could just run it out (and I'm not talking about balls that might land at their feet if they didn't dive) - diving probably is slightly faster. And consider this - when you run through the bag, your foot needs to touch. But when you dive, you can extend your arm and just touch with that, giving you another foot or two of reach.
  14. Seems like a good thing...they raised probably upwards of $2 million dollars for a good cause. I don't have a problem with that.
  15. Very cool...I went in the Hall of Fame club on Saturday when I saw Pedro v. Halladay. The seats were season tickets of a friends of mine. It's very nice, and they had free popcorn.
  16. Welcome aboard. As long as you don't bring hoards of band-wagon Yankees fans, I'm cool.
  17. It's amazing how these feats can make people ignore stuff like BALCO - he was given a standing ovation (as well he should have) when he hit the bomb (450+ feet I think).
  18. It'll make tomorrow's win that much better.
  19. That's true. I don't have any doubt about his skill, I just want him to get some wins.
  20. Lol...Schilling may have been good, but 4 ER isn't too great. Hopefully he can adjust to Fenway quickly.
  21. That's reasonable if he keeps up this pace. He's going to do much better than 5th in MVP voting this year.
  22. Ortiz is a beast! Last year we had twenty-something games won in the last at-bat. I wonder how many it'll be this year.
  23. I say we purchase Daubauch's contract and send Jones down...especially since Malaska seems like a good relief pitcher.
