  1. Dipre and Cliff - I know I don't moderate too often, but stop it. You don't need to insult each other each post. A forum works better if folks discuss their disagreements intelligently without resorting to this.
  2. Really. What we're trying to figure out is what to do NOW. Thanks for pointing out what could have been done 7 months ago, jack.
  3. I'll throw a player out there: Hank Blalock. DH/1B/3B, 29 years old next season, coming off an injury filled few years, and we wouldn't have to give up any draft picks. Assuming Martinez stays behind the plate, it'll give Lowell and Ortiz some spells, and once again, Youk's flexibility would be essential. Thoughts?
  4. Here's some consolation: Peter Abraham thought Okajima was Dice-K...that's fun. From boston.com Extra Bases:
  5. But in the end, I'm not even thinking about the umpiring. The Sox played like s*** the entire series.
  6. Our 3 best pitchers didn't get it done, and our offense was dead when it counted. Brutal series start to finish.
  7. I can't believe this ********. Papelbon is a disaster.

  9. You can click through this link and see the break down of wins/losses on the calendar. For example, against pitchers who finished with 175+ strikeouts. Pretty cool. Boston Globe Graphic
  10. I'm pulling for the Twins, and this has been a pretty exciting week for them. I've watched nearly every game, and they've been pretty awesome (at least in parts)
  11. Ellsbury stealing home has to be #1, although there were several pleasant surprises (though maybe not single plays): Clay Buchholz's resurgence. Dice-K's first start back. Victor Martinez's off the bench go ahead double with the bases loaded against the Orioles. (that was AWESOME) - I'd put this at #2.
  12. Jacoby! I'm finding it very difficult to balance the game along with SNL Thursday (pretty funny so far), The Office at 9, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia at 10. I even kind of want to watch Community.
  13. Thanks. You may have noticed I changed my user tag as well. While we're on the subject of really old jokes, have you ever thought of starting a sim league here? I don't think there would be any drama.
  14. Get with the program...it's the age of the smart phone. We were both mistaken.
  15. Game, set, match. Dice-K's first respectable (and quality) start of the year. He gave up 1 run in five innings in early June, but six innings is markedly better.
  16. I was fully expecting him to scale the wall on that one. Disappointing.
  17. JACOBY! What an awesome catch.
  18. Well that was a bit scary.
  19. A friend of a friend wrote this article for WEEI after interviewing several players and execs, and wrote an article that just may change the way you look at JD Drew. Definitely a good one to print out and read on the toilet. Just a suggestion. http://fullcount.weei.com/sports/boston/baseball/red-sox/2009/09/01/the-misinterpreted-jd-drew/
