  1. Trade sounds all but official: From the Herald.
  2. worth 18 million, damn, BJ Ryan really set the bar high for this market...here are the big relief signings this season: Scott Eyre - 3 yrs, 11 million Bobby Howry - 3 yrs, 12 million BJ Ryan - 5 yrs, 47 million Billy Wagner - 4 yrs, 43 million Tom Gordon - 3 yrs, 18 million And Farnsworth should get around 20 million for 4 years I think. This is getting a bit ridiculous.
  3. Wow Dave....5 months? Rock on.
  4. Hey, allright, only 13-0.
  5. I'll tell you what I think about this game. The Patriots are displaying exactly what NOT to do in a football game. Their defense is being torn to pieces, Brady hasn't looked good or comfortable on one play, I don't think Evans has gotten much positive yardage, and somehow Trent Green hasn't missed a throw (that he didn't mean to). We're lucky it's only 10-0, and it's about to be 17-0.
  6. UMMMM wow. All I can say is wow. I received my visit from the Elf today, and I was flabbergasted. That's right, I said it, flabbergasted. Rick, you are an extraordinarily kind man, and what you do to this site (on it and off) is unparalleled. Thank you so much. Alex
  7. About. f***ing. Time. A big congratulations to Albert Pujols.

  9. There were three threads created within seconds of one another. I merged them all together.
  10. 1. Alex Rodriguez - 331 votes (16 1st place) 2. David Ortiz - 307 (11 1st place) 3. Vladdy Guerrero - 196 (1 1st place) 4. Manny Ramirez Congrats to A-Rod, shoulda been papi, but oh well, so it goes.
  11. Shoppach's gone by spring training.
  12. My picks: DETROIT over Arizona INDIANAPOLIS over Houston NY GIANTS over Minnesota CHICAGO over San Francisco JACKSONVILLE over Baltimore KANSAS CITY over Buffalo NEW ENGLAND over Miami DENVER over Oakland CAROLINA over NY Jets ATLANTA over Green Bay WASHINGTON over Tampa Bay ST LOUIS over Seattle CLEVELAND over Pittsburgh DALLAS over Philadelphia
  13. I can vouch for it, it's worth the download.
  14. I'll throw my name onto the list. I need very few things in life to make me happy: friends, family, movies, Red Sox, Patriots, and females. I find that I am pretty much able to get those on a consistent basis on my own. But if there's something that would make me a happier person, it would clearly be the one thing I've avoided getting simply because...I'm lazy. That'd be a Tedy Bruschi Jersey (size large) from the New England patriots. He's my all time favorite athlete, and I even had the pleasure of meeting him and speaking with him for a couple of hours. DVDs are nice, but I can get those on a regular basis. This seems like the one I would want: http://www.modells.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1908169&cp=716563.716669.716671&parentPage=family I'm not big on fast food, but if I had to pick, I'd probably say Burger King is my favorite. Delicious. Kinda.
  15. Oh, I almost forgot about the Myers/Bradford tandem. I kinda liked them.
  16. Okay, here comes my ideal 2005...if possible...maybe. And this is if Manny needs to be traded, which seems likely. Trades: Arroyo for Huff. Wells for Craig Breslow and Dave Roberts (I think they still have him, he may be a FA, try to get Clay Hensley too) Manny for Ervin Santana and Darin Erstad 1B - Huff 2B - Cora/Pedroia SS - Edgar 3B - Youk C - VTek RF - Trot CF - Erstad LF - Roberts (or get Giles, that'd be good too) DH - Papi Bench - Cora/Pedroia, Mirabelli, Olerud SP - Schilling SP - Wakefield SP - Papelbon SP - Clement SP - Ervin Santana RP - Foulke RP - Timlin RP - Hansen RP - Dinardo RP - Delcarmen RP - Breslow Get some more bench players, bolster the bullpen. Who knows, just throwing some ideas around.
  17. I don't know if this has been posted, but here is Theo's statement.
  18. I have a source who is very close to Theo Epstein, and when they talked this afternoon, he basically summed it up as this: He's won a World Series, he's made a bunch of money, he's become slightly well known, he's dated a model, he's lived his lifelong dream, and he's just ready to move on. I believe this also means with baseball, not just with the Red Sox. It clearly had nothing to do with the money...1.5 million a year is top of the line GM money, it may have something to do with Lucchino, bottom line is, this was Theo's decision, and I respect him for it. It was obviously a tough call, but the Sox will move on from this...eventually. I know that I, along with the rest of the RSN, are devastated by this news, but they will find a replacement.
  19. Scott Williamson was great for us in the postseason and in the few games he pitched off his injury. You can take his name off that list.
  20. I cannot believe that final play of the game. Uribe getting to that grounder...I mean the runner was two steps, maybe three away from first base when Uribe threw it. What an amazing play. White Sox have won 15 of their last 16, and have now brought home the World Series title. Well done ChiSox, this is truly a team built to last.
  21. See: Damon, Johnny. Good memory.
  22. I love baseball, and these games have been pretty exciting. I think I enjoyed watching the two championship series more, but this is fun too. It's exciting baseball to say the least, but of course I'd like to see Boston in there instead.
  23. I hope he stays in the AL so that when he returns to Fenway he gets the kind of reception that O-Cab got. I love seeing that.
  24. Yeah that was an accident...I'm still figuring out the new mod stuff.
